Phone choice question

I am currently setting up service for anelderly family member and ned some help with phones>

Do ALL tmobile phones pull in with the same reception or are some "Stronger" with signal strength? My father has horrible spotty recepton and I am trying to choose a phone that will work best for him.

Forget about wifi for better reception because he doesn't even have internet

I also have to get him a plainer phone because if I gave him somethign like a curve he would have a nervous breakdown with all the tiny buttons

He just needs to be able to make calls and thats it.
