Default Phone Arena dot com has the 9100 marked coming to T-Mo

RIM BlackBerry Pearl 9100 T-Mobile (Phone Arena)

Quote:
The original BlackBerry Pearl made its debut on T-Mobile’s lineup – it would only be fitting if the latest incarnation of the slim candybar smartphone partner up with them again. The BlackBerry Pearl 9100 made its rounds early in the month with reports about being the first RIM handset to pack 802.11n Wi-Fi. Now there are some clear indications that it’ll join T-Mobile after a screenshot of the handset showing that it supports 3G bands 1, 4, and 8 – which ultimately points to the AWS band that T-Mobile is known for.

interesting idea.... i hope they get it.

Interesting. I didn't know the Pearl would have Wireless N on it.

I heard rumors that Wireless N was tested and was found to drain the battery too fast so that it may not be used. Apparently this isn't true.

It just seems sort of silly to me, isn't Wireless G enough for a Blackberry? It doesn't seem like Wireless N would be worth the battery drain.

Have you seen the speed differences they are very substantial and I would love to have Wireless N on my Blackberry. But to answer the battery life question they should maybe add that to the Bold but make a slightly bigger battery. That would be a device I would buy in a heartbeat.

Can the processor keep up with N? I am assuming here that the 8320 is 802.11G, but even just downloading a file, my work AT&T 9000 is significantly faster than my 8320 when they are both on my home WiFi.

I haven't seen the speed differences, no. I know that N is MUCH faster than G on my laptop, but I'm skeptical whether we'd see much difference on a BB. Would the processor be able to handle the faster speed? I don't know

I do agree that it would have a bigger battery.
