Default one pin in different carriers

basicly I live in two places US and Ecuador. I Just got my Curve 8900. Is there a way after I unblock the phone, and release the pin, to use it in Ecuador with a different carrier for a while, then come back and use the same pin for a few months. I mean use the phone here and in Ecuador with the same pin, just exchanging the sim card??????????????

The pin is associated with the phone, not the carrier nor the SIM. It won't change when you move between carriers.

Which I believe is the reason the BlackBerry PIN will never get any serious traction as a communication ID that people regularly use.

The last time I ordered business cards was probably 5 years ago and I ordered a ZILLION of them. I still have about 1/2 a case of them left. I've been through countless phones since that time including a couple of BlackBerrys. If I used my BlackBerry PIN in the same way that I use my phone number, my email address and my IM address, I'd have to reprint business cards all the time.

BlackBerry needs to make PINs transferrable between devices. If I get a new BlackBerry every 6 months, I get a new PIN number every six months. Imagine if you had to change your phone number every time you got a new phone! What a nightmare!

I've only seen one person in my life include their BlackBerry PIN on their business card. Why don't more people put their BlackBerry PINs on their business cards? They're disposable and you don't keep the same one from year to year.

RIM needs to wake up on this and create protocols for allowing people to keep PINs through a succession of BlackBerry devices.
