not able to get 3g in san jose bay area anyone else?

Been 3g less for since monday only able to get EDGE. Anyone else experiencing this? I have a bold 9700. But my friend has a moto cliq he gets 3g though

Weird, I got the same problem a few days ago.
I did not notice it initially since I'm on Wifi/UMA at home and at work.

My T-Mobile BB 9700 would only go to EDGE, even after reboot. I have no idea why since it was in automatic network selection mode.
To fix it, I went to Manage Connection / Mobile Network Options, set the Network Selection Mode to manual and selected T-Mobile 3G (instead of 2G) manually.

I got on the 3G that way. I'm back to Automatic now and still getting 3G automatically. I have no idea what went wrong, but I had similar results internationally where I would get onto an operator's 2G network but not on 3G.

The 9700 seems to be a mixed bag, with 3G issues being constantly reported.. I don't know what the deal is though. Is the CLIQ's signal strength lower than usual? He could be picking up another tower that your phone can't or something of the sort. Call T-Mobile and check for outages and look into a warranty exchange.

Your profile says you are using an 8900 phone. The 8900 phone is not a 3G device. Assume you haven't updated your profile.

In Los Angeles, I was without 3G most of yesterday. It's back on today.
