Default No Music Transfer over Bluetooth?

So the other day me and my fiance were in the T-Mobile store looking to get her another phone, she wanted one with Stereo Bluetooth so I could send her ringtones. Then the store rep told us that t-mobile phones won't allow you to send songs etc. via bluetooth because then 1 person would buy it, and just send it to everybody.

Anybody know if there is any truth to it? I got to thinking, and my conclusion is only that its BS, since bluetooth really has nothing to do with the network, but with the phone software, which SHOULD be changeable somehow?

any input?

Well it has nothing to do with the network, it has to do with the fact that t-mobile (and VZW) block certain features on their phones to get more money out of their customers...my suggestion is to maybe install a new OS without the vendor file, not sure if that would fix it, but it makes sense (at least in my head)

Or just buy/trade for an unlocked AT&T 8310 and replace your fiance's phone with another carrier's phone and that would work...

Also you don't need stereo bluetooth, that's for if you want to use bluetooth headphones, i forget what the protocol is called but it has to have file transfering enabled...

Jhill, the problem is I can't. Heck, when we both got bluetooth enabled, we can't even find each other, but my bluetooth headset she can find. And I can easily find me friends phones too, so something is weird

You can transfer music files via blue tooth.
Just not ringtones you've purchased from T-mobile, or any other carrier.
One's you add on, and make yourself you can.

I have transferred ALL my music files via bluetooth. If your BB isn't finding your bluetooth connection there is a problem with your connection or the active status of your other device. I've never had problems sending files from a bluetooth device, this includes other phones of friends, etc.

Edit: Make sure all the settings on all devices are set to public or "searchable". It only takes one setting to screw up your connection.

Logical reasoning beats ignorance.
I'd agree with you but then I'd be wrong.
