Default New Customer Port on Monthly Plan: Is it possible?

I have recently been given two t-mobile phone from friends who didn't want them anymore, and knew I loved phones. I have been contemplating switch our two lines over to T-Mobile from Verizon. Now with the two phone in hand, I am wondering if it would be possible to port my number to T-Mobile but remain on a monthly service with no contract. Any thoughts or knowledge?

The phones would be a 8120 and a G1.

Yes you can. You can port your number into any plan except a PrePaid plan. You would be placed on a FlexPay monthly plan without running your credit. You would just have to pay your first month's bill up front before leaving the store. Keep in mind, data for the G1 is mandatory. $25 for data only, $35 for data + unlimited messaging.

Yeah cost is not an issue. I'm saving money with the most expension option on the phone. I just wanted to make sure I wasnt in a contract for when the diftwood was eventually released.

Well keep in mind, you won't be able to get a discount on future phones if you aren't in contract. When you sign a contract, that's when you can get discounts.

But if I go into a flex pay, I would still be able to buy another phone at contract price if I accepted the two year contract? In other works, does flexpay exclude you from being able to enter a 2-year contract and get the appropriate price?

If you start service as FlexPay monthly, you can't convert it to an annual FlexPay account.
