go to a tmobile store, they will probably just give it to you since you are adding new service

Instead of prepay, why not go with flexpay? It's like prepaid in that you pay for stuff upfront, but you do get data features and such for your BB.

You won't be able to do data only. Pre Paid doesn't have a data package either. You could do a monthly contract with the bare amount of minutes which is 500 minutes, text and data for 60 bucks.
