Default need advice

I am in need of some advise. My wife signed a 2 year contract with tmobile and got the buy one get one free blackberry.so we now have 2blackberry 9700. total price was 150.00 for the blackberry phone then got one free. it is past the 14 day return/cancelation and we do not get service at or home or work period. might get lucky and get one bar on edge. tmobile website says we get coverage on there map.the service is now useless to us.we want to goto att. my question is can we legally keep the phones? and cancel service? any info would be greatly needed. Thanks

You're going to have to pay the ETF if it's past the 14 days. Just curious but why did you wait so long? That's why they give 2 weeks to decide if it's the right service for you.

You're welcome to keep the phones but they will charge you for it on top of the ETF. I would give back the phones, pay the ETF, and go to ATT. Even if you did keep the Bolds, they wouldn't work with ATT 3G.

Do you have Wi-fi in your house? You can set the 9700 to use Wi-fi when you are home which will give you coverage.

>> tmobile website says we get coverage

Call TM CS: ask if they have any towers in your area under repair. They are also able to increase the power in areas where there is low service, but you have to ask.

After the 14 days you will have to pay the early termination fee and if you wanna keep the phones, not sure if they will charge you an additional fee for the second phone. When you go to ATT, you will need to unlock the phone to work on their network, but you won't be able to access their 3G cos it's initially a T-Mobile phone. The option with the wifi will allow you to use the UMA setting to make and receive calls as-well as be on the internet for some stuff but you'll need BIS for any of your push notification items. So try the wifi/UMA option as a test and if that's not satisfactory to you, then ETF it shall be. Good luck, hope that helps.

I know if I didn't have service at my home with a new company, I would have cancelled within the 14 day period...

Sorry, but Artemis and Pi Guy are correct. If you had returned your phones in the
14 day period, there would have been no penalty for breaking the contract.

Not meaning to be harsh, but it was not a good move to wait if you had no service.
