Default My T-Mobile Blackberry Bold 9700 broke?

I live in Cali & had a 2 contract w/ T-Mobile.
Then like a year & half into it I upgraded to a Bold which was last February w/ a 2 yr contract extension w/ no insurance. (I didn't even know insurance was an option.)

Basically I dropped it & the LCD broke.
To fix it at a local Cell shop it's $120.
I don't want to do that..
I just want to tell T-Mobile what happened & get a new one for free or discounted.
Because I don't want to get another for like $230 WITH a 2yr extension.
& Without an extension it's like $300+.

What can I do to make this happen?

Because I know they don't usually do that because I didn't have insurance & it's my fault that it broke.
I just need some tips or someone experienced to tell me what to say.

Please & Thank youu.

So basically you want someone to tell you how to cheat the system because you didn't get insurance on a phone you were careless with? Unlikely.

You might as well just pay for an early upgrade, or get it fixed.

You can replace the screen yourself. Just look for the screen on ebay. I have replaced screens on BB's before. Not too hard to do.

Another option is to look on craigslist for a cheap replacement. I have been seeing 9700's going from $100-$180 lately.

It's not possible, pay to get it replaced, replace it yourself or buy a new phone. If you send T-Mobile a broken phone you will be paying for a 9700 at retail price and there is no way around that
