Default My coverage prob has been solved :)

All last year, I had really bad t-mobile coverage at school...SOS at least half the time, GSM a good part of the time too! I would have used UMA (like I do at home) but my college has a lame ISP that blocks a lot of voip activity, like Skype. Crap.

Anyway, I am pleased to say that I no longer have this issue. Over the summer, t-mobile must have upgraded their roaming agreements with AT&T because anywhere I don't have t-mobile, I get full EDGE with AT&T and I mean everywhere! In the library basement, in the neuro room, everywhere. It totally rocks. I was able to roam a little last year but ATT seemed spotty but now it's been great.I have not seen SOS once now...freaking impressive.

Seriously, I have Verizon-like coverage at a FRACTION of the cost. I'd like to see them get 3 bars in the basement classroom I go to with no windows and all brick. Hehe.

Anyway, yeah, good going T-Mobile. I don't even mind just having EDGE here...now that the coverage is stellar..that's all I need!

Just when I LOSE the ability to roam on AT&T towers you GAIN the ability.

I really wish I could find a publication of the exact details of the roaming agreement changes.

Is there some sort of map that tells you in which parts you can roam on ATT towers? I have a couple of dead zones on my way home from work. Also does TMO have a roaming agreement with Cellular One? I go on their towers at times for SOS.

Hey I just want to give you a heads up about my situation. I to have tmobile and go to college in southeastern ohio and ha the same issue. I got a blackberry pearl in january of 2009 during my senior year. I was always on ATT with full edge, I loved it! Then in july I received a letter from tmobile stating I had been rming for quite a long time and they would no longer be paying my roaming charges. They very nicely asked me in the letter to leave their service. They were going to let me out of contract with no ETF and were going to port myy number and unlock my 2 week old 8900. I begged and pleaded with them that I love their service and didn't want to leave my family plan, plus told them I wouldn't roam anymore. I am finishing up my last semester and now just use my phone completely over wifi and UMA.
Just be careful because I wouldn't want this to happen to anyone else!

Thanks for the heads up! yeah that would totally be a bummer!

I would say I'm on AT&T about...25% of the time. I'll try to limit my data when I'm roaming too because I don't want T-Mobile to drop me.

Yeah. I usually just turn my mobile network off when I'm home/anywhere with wifi and then just roam on the weekend when I'm going out. Good luck with everything!! Hopefully you'll be done school and won't have to worry anymore
