Default MMS on T-Mo 8900 Curve?

Hey all, I'm curious about how MMS works on the 8900 Curve.

I can send MMS, say with a picture or something. And people receive them.

However, when people try to send me stuff, I don't get it. I get texts and emails. I have "Always" for both Multimedia Reception and Automatic Retrieval in the MMS options. I also have "Reject Anonymous Messages" unchecked. I have "Reject Advertisements" checked but I'll uncheck it and try again.

Also, what used to happen (doesn't anymore for whatever reason) was that when I got an MMS, it would tell me "to view your MMS go to T-Mobile's website". Which is stupid.

Is there a way to receive MMS on the phone? Any options I have missed?

Thanks

You should be able to receive normal MMS on the 8900, yes.
Sounds like something is messed up in the settings. I'd call T-Mobile and tell them and they can troubleshoot the settings on their end. This doesn't sound like anything you can fix on your own.

Have you tried to send yourself messages?

If not, send 2 seperate MMS to yourself including a picture. I am not sure what this fixes, but there are occasionally problems with T-Mo that this will correct. If you receive both messages on your phone from yourself, try to have someone else send you something.

I won't take credit for something I found through google a while back!

Glad you got it fixed.

My g/f didn't have a data plan with her device while we were still Suncom. She had issues on and off and this is how I got it fixed:
1) Call T-Mo and ask them to DISABLE MMS Provisioning on his line only.
2) Wait 24 hrs and call back and ask to ENABLE MMS Provisioning on his line only. (I waited 24 hrs, but not sure if it was necessary.)
3) Once you have them re-enable MMS, resend service books to his phone if he has a data plan. (If you are unsure, see BLACKBERRY HELP at top of crackberry.com)
4) Using his phone, try to send 2 seperate MMS with picture to his phone.

Does his 8900 have a BB data plan?

If your brother tried 'sending 2 mms messages' to his phone and that didn't work, I would go under tmo's site and do the reapp loader. I had the same exact problem and the 'sending 2 mms messages' didn't fix my phone, calling tmo didn't fix it cause they said 'nothings wrong on their end' didn't fix it, exchanging my phone didn't fix it, and I had to reload the app thingy and update my OS from 4.2 to 4.5. That finally fixed it! Maybe it'll fix it for your brother too! Goodluck!

This was a common issue with the 8320 and 8100 models. The update to 4.5 helped with this. With the 8900 though, it isn't a software issue.

apU823: Per T-Mobile, the feature enabler is not to be added. If you had it added to yours recently, that's great. That would be an exception rather than the norm though.

Yeah, I wish the freature enabler was still around, I'd like to keep my wife and daughter on BlackBerries, but I can't see that happening...
