Default Missing T-Zones on my new Torch

Recently, I acquired and unlocked a new Torch 9800 for use on T-Mobile. This is my first-ever non-T-Mobile device. I used Desktop Manager to migrate from my 8900 in the usual way and everything -- including the service books -- apparently migrated fine. But I noticed that I don't have the T-Mobile specific features like the T-Zones icon. If I try to browse to wap.t-zones.com I end up at the UK T-Mobile web site.

I noticed that even though DM backed up and transferred the service books, the T-Mobile specific service books like the WAP BrowserConfig are present on my 8900 but not my new 9800.

I don't currently have a data plan activated, but the T-Zones browser had always worked in the free WAP mode. How do I get the T-Mobile specific stuff over to my Torch? Thanks.

With an unlocked phone, I'm not surprised that it doesn't work. I'd try logging in to my.t-mobile.com and resending the service books. If you haven't completely changed the device you're using in the BIS settings (called "configure e-mail" on t-mobile.com), then it's likely your device doesn't have the right books to work.

Agreed. You might try some of the Storm/Tour tactics in their respective forums for getting the TMO specific stuff to show up. I've used the techniques many times, but never on a Torch

Bottom line is...TMO doesnt guarantee 100% compatibilty for devices that are not sold by them.
