Lost Stolen what?

I lost my bb bold and i can't find it....I have insurance what do I say so that I don't have to pay for anything and not file a police report....can they track it?

When I had the insurance put on my phone I asked about theft and loosing the phone. They said that there would be a deductible of $130 I believe. Don't quote me on that price. However maybe you could pay that and get a new BOLD 9780 which would be totally worth it. Just be very sincere when speaking to the rep and maybe you'll get more out of the deal. I would just give them a call and see what they have to offer. Lying isn't always the best solution to a problem.

Not sure if they can track it or not. However, I can tell you that most, not all, but most police agencies will not complete a report for an item that was simply lost. I think you need to carefully review your insurance coverage on the device and make sure you have very clear understanding of the terms and conditions before filing any sort of claim for replacement.

Did you happen to have SmrtGaurd, Lookout Mobile or similar app installed that will allow you to remotely track, lock and if needed wipe the data?

Being that you have insurance you will need to pay a deductible just like you would with a home owner's policy or car insurance policy. And there is a good chance that you will have to file a police report if you feel the phone has been stolen from you. They will want some sort of verification that you just didn't give the phone to another person and claim it's "stolen". With that being said the States do no blacklist IMEI or BlackberryPIN numbers like they do in the European countries. SO if you should find the phone you can call the police and explain to them that it was a lost item and you found it, or the item has been recovered via another means. There are some honest people out there that will return phones. I've seen quite a few post on here of people looking for someone who has lost their phone.

Anyway you decide to handle it. I would strong suggest downloading a remote GPS location application to your phone for future issues.
