Thumbs up Looking to switch to TMO...

Hey guys and gals,
I am looking to switch to TMO from Verizon. I can get basically the same plan for about $30 less a month with TMO. I went in today and got a prepaid SIM to test network coverage and so far so good. The coverage map shows good coverage everywhere I usually roam around, not to mention the two places I spend the majority of my time I would be using UMA. Any advise or anything in general I should know? Most likely will be bringing 4 more BB users with me, can I get that $25 discount for each of the 4? Thanks in advance for any advise or help!

Are they going to be on a family plan with you?

Unless it's unlimited, family plans include the first 2 people and then it's 9.99/month per line added to it. You share minutes and text but you add data packages separately.

I really like T-Mobile and if you switch phones a lot, I think you'll like the flexibility of GSM. UMA can't be beat either!

Right now it looks like there will be 3 separate plans, 2 lines each. I switch phones on a regular basis so I will be loving the GSM network. UMA is a big draw for my sister and her family as they virtually live in an RF black hole.

Make sure you get UMA capable phones for your sister & family, not all T-Mo phones do UMA (although I think all their Blackberries do))

Is the BOGO in effect for the Even More Plus plans?
Even More Plus plans do not have subsidies for their phones. You forfeit that options for the lower rates per month.

I read somewhere that being on a 2 year contract afforded you the privilege of upgrading phones every year, it that true?

Yeah, Smartphone users can get a good discount every year on a new handset and contract, all to reduce churn and keep us customers that don't mind paying extra for a data package and stuff

Awesome. This plus the cheaper rates than VZW and UMA have made my decision for me!

You will enjoy. I wasn't happy that the price of my plans went up a bit, and I had to add the BB package to my wife's line, but I'm still saving money over going anywhere else. And T*Mo has been great for me for (I believe) 7 years now.

Default TMO plans

I've been with them for over 2 yrs. now with little problem. Just upgraded to a family unlimited plan on 2 lines and got a third at 200 min./month for $10 more. Added a BB data plan and the whole thing costs only $115/month. I'm happy, unless somebody tells me I could do better. Oh yeah, no contract either, but I didn't upgrade any phones either.

Well I did it, ordered a Bold 9700 for myself and a white Curve 8520 for the little lady (yes I gave her a choice). I ordered from Cell Phones for free with Cell Phone Plans from AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and got the Bold for $50 and the Curve free. I placed my order with them at 0300 this morning and just received confirmation that my credit check went through. I can't wait to get my hands on the 9700 tomorrow!! Thanks everyone for the advise and I look forward to contributing to this particular forum!
