Default Just got a used 9300, new to bb and have a few questions

Hello all,

I just bought a new BB9300 for tmobile, as my carrier is tmobile. I never had a data plan with them just talk and text. I was wondering what my options are for this? Im thinking about the 200MB data for $10.

Since they dont know I have it do I still need the BB data plan?

What is the BB data plan, necessary for applications?

Can I tell them I still use my ty non smartphone samsung to acquire a cheaper dataplan?

What are your thoughts on this situation, any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks

You need a data plan for a Blackberry to use most of the features on the device.
Here is a break down of how much 200MB will get you.
{ Yes, this chart is from AT&T but it's very useful even though it only shows their options. }

To get all the data and email features on the BB you need a BB plan. On TM it is best to get the unlimited BB plan. If you are already a TM customer, ask a CS Retentions Rep for the "Pref Blackberry Plan" 'cause your family member has it for about $30.

On a BB phone, the full features are provided through the BB servers.
Using the TM servers you will not get all the features.

This is the TM calculator: Data Calculator

The moment you power up the device with your sim in it, they know what you have.

Want proof? Log onto tmobile.com, log in, and look. It will show the 9300.

Holy crap thanks man! Saved me from an embarrassing situation. If I add the BB plan does it extend my contract?
