I assume this is the answer your looking for. The Xtreme Labs speed test app.

You can pick it up free at this link OTA or read more at this link.

Otherwise, geographically I'm on the south side of Mandarin.

UPDATE: Turns out I'm getting better speeds than I though. The Speed Test app must test using a very small packet size. Using mobilespeedtest.com shows much better results when tested at 1MB.

Tmobile 3G must get progressively faster with larger data.

So the title of this thread should now be renamed: "Speed Test App - Pathetic?"

AT&T was just evaluated as the worst carrier in the nation by Consumer Reports.

I haven't found Tmo's 3G to be worthwhile. I was in JAX 2 weeks ago, same signal as OP and super slow data/surfing. Houston Airport- same thing. It sucks at best. Add in the dropped calls and you may as well be on Edge. Fire away Berryite.

I edited the title. Often those tests directly on the device are not accurate.

So what's the verdict? I'm headed home to jacksonville for the break. I surely thought the service would be pretty good there for some reason.

I still get better speeds of 900Kbps when I test @ 1MB+.

I would love to see what kind of speeds you get once your home.

Make sure to use mobilespeedtest.com rather than the speed test app from xtreme labs.

Testing a larger packet size like 1MB will give you more accurate results.

I've been collecting 3G speed tests (notably for the blackberry 9700 but feel free to enter other devices if you note them in the comments). The page is:

3G speed test results
