Default International Talk and Text Launch

Beginning December 8th (Tentative) TMO will offer an international add-on for Even More and Even More Plus plans. This will allow users to make free calls to landline numbers in select countries, as well as send text messages to any mobile number as well.

- Even More/Even More Plus plans only. No legacy plans.

Pricing:
- $10 if you have an EM+ plan with messaging bundled in.
- $25 if you have an EM plan. This would replace your messaging plan on that line

Will there be an option of $5 for unlimited international text add-on?

What if you have a family plan with $20 unlimited family messaging? Or is this only available for single lines?

This is AWESOME! Now I just need to know someone in any of those countries. Is the add-on likely free?

I think you can use it on Family and Single lines but NO legacy (old) plans. The add on prices are only for EM+ or EM.

Nope, it won't be free.

I know its a big world and everything, but there are a lot of countries they dont even consider..... for example, Ecuador........ there are a lot of people living in the US that are from Ecuador... and if they had that feature then they would probably change to Tmo........ Im talking about 1.2 million people!!!

kerrylau,

If you're calling out of the country, then yes, they will be free minutes.

I will be leaving the US heading into Mexico in March for a week, so does that mean I just call up T-Mobile and add on one of those plans, so I can call back in the states? Hate to go down there and not stay in contact with family.

Keep in mind that TMO is the only cell company offering something like this, so they have to start somewhere

The plan is for calling long distance to those countries, so unfortunately it wouldn't change anything if you're traveling to the country and wanting to make calls while there

What do I need to do Norris in order to be able to call back home while there? I am sure I could call them and ask, figured you know your stuff, so ask you first, lol!

You can call back home anywhere in the world while you are roaming, just expect a big fat bill later.

If you don't want to pay, then make UMA calls back to the US using your wifi connections. But now everywhere has wifi.

Well I know that...and about UMA, use it now.

No other way of calling to get an added intenational fee while done there to call back? Probably not due to roaming?

Thought roaming was free on TMobile though. I roam at home off att...lol! Hence using UMA.
