| | Interesting new charge ...
Just logged into my T-Mobile online account today. A splash screen greeted me, saying that I would be charged $1.50 every month if I didn't switch to paperless billing. Granted that's only $18 per year but was still enough for me to make the switch. Dunno if this is for me specifically or if everyone is getting it, but just thought I'd pass it on.

Scoundrels....just goes to show ya no one carrier is any better than the other....they all have their "way's" of nickle and diming you to death.

I read it as per bill they send you. Granted I didn't go much into the fine print, just moved as fast I could before they could have the excuse of adding the charge to my next bill.

Me personally, if they charged $1.50 to do the paperless I would sign up in a heartbeat! The amount of waste generated by the paper billing has to be huge. I can't stand getting that thick paper bill each month only to just shred it and then recycle it.
I went to the paperless billing awhile ago.....it's so much easier and you can review past bills with a couple clicks of the mouse instead of digging through files. I'm just a digital person like that I guess.

I believe it's "per bill" as well...like a Family account with 4 lines or whatever would only be in 1 bill and would be charged 1.50 per month.
However, if I had 2 lines on my account (not sharing minutes or plan) and were separate, then I would get 2 different bills and thus be charged 1.50/each.
It's really a ploy to get more $$ using the "going green" as an excuse. I have Paperless but I much prefer a paper bill. I find it easier to read. Ah well. Guess I'm sticking with what I have.
FYI, T-Mobile also stated that the 1.50 charge wouldn't apply to customers who got FREE detailed paper billing years ago or those on special government or business accounts...but that's not the average user.

Eh, I wouldn't say interesting. It's more of a ploy to get more money out of us.
Thank you for posting this! I probably wouldn't have found out until after being charged for it since I don't check my account on the T-Mobile site often.

I saw the same notice last night. I'm actually surprised I hadn't signed up for paperless billing sooner since I use it for most everything else already.

So I signed up for paperless billing with e-mail and text notifications when my bill is ready. After confirming the change of billing method I received an e-mail from T-Mobile saying it will take one or two billing cycles for me to start receiving e-mail notifications about the bill being ready.
Not a major thing as I check my account once or twice a week anyway, but for those who rarely check it just a heads up. Kind of annoying that they need 1-2 months to make such a minor switch, but whatever.

If they really want to be green AND customer friendly, how about emailing your ENTIRE BILL to you?

Whatever man...who needs a paper statement these days anyway? It's a waste. I am glad the carriers are incentivizing better practices. Americans alone create enough paper waste per annum to build a 10 foot wall that would stretch from NY to Tokyo! Get with the times, stop printing up $hit that is unnecessary, and save your buck-fifty!

| | Meh, I'm being the rebel and staying with the regular paper bill! What's another $1.50 when you're already paying $170 a month anyways? :::shrugs:::
