Default I'm No Cell-Phone-Phile, but....

I'm certainly not a technophile; after 15 months with my Berry, I'm still learning stuff.

However, I do not know what I am supposed to think when I read all the advance hoopla about TMo's less-than-stellar 3G network, apparently a long time coming, when Sprint is breaking the news with 4G!?

I realize that all of the major cell phone carriers have to make their proprietary adjustments, and will even give TMo a pass for usually being a Johnny-come-lately with their services and Blackberry upgrades, (a moderate price to pay for outstanding customer service.....are you listening AT&T?). But, this is becoming absurd.

What am I to think? How am I expected to respond to this? TMo Reps, are you reading???

According to Engadget, Rogers Wireless will begin it's 21Mbps HSPA+ rollout. They'll be the first in North America but AT&T was likely to go straight to LTE. So why is TMobile even bothering with it's 3G network? It seems that TMO is far behind from the other carriers. 3G probably won't be available to me until like 2010/2011 since I live in a small town. LOL I'm running EDGE as it is right now. TMO, give us some answers!

Very long-time supporter of T-Mobile here. Very. Always loyal all the way.

Forget about Sprint.

The company you want to keep an eye on is Verizon. They could well leave the whole industry behind them with their 4G LTE.

I'm not making any switches today or tomorrow. But in the long term, Verizon are the guys to watch.

I agree, tmo's 3G is subpar and they have been behind the times when it comes to upgrading.

However, their prices are still low. If they were sinking tons of $$$ into developing 4G like everyone else, you can bet us customers will be paying more.

If you want stellar customer service and great rates, stay with Tmo. If 3/4g is that important switch carriers.

I agree on the top two posts. TMo has by far the BEST customer service. I called TMo to replace my niece's Sidekick because hers was all messed up. Her line didn't qualify for a full discount so they told me that my mom's line did and to use that line to get the new Sidekick. They also told me to switch out the SIM card to the new Sidekick. All I did was sign a two year contract which I had no problem with. They even split the cost of the phone into four monthly payments and it'll be on my bill. Now I don't know what other carrier does that but TMOs customer service is exceptional. I could live without 3G/4G but if it's available to me then that's fine. EDGE will do for now.

Im not that tmo isnt planning on moving on to lte. They certainly havent been expanding 3g coverage very quickly. maybe they dont want to invest too heavily in 3g with lte right around the corner.
