Default I need a phone unlocked

I have a T-Mobile V3 and I want it unlocked and I really don't want to pay to have it unlocked, and T-Mobile says I have to have an account with them to provide me the code, that is BULL, I paid for this phone, I want it unlocked, bottom line.

So can anyone please help me get the unlock code?

Then you're going to have to pay for it. There is no other magic free way.

Howdy Ssanders,

Normally none of the carriers will unlock phones, unless you have a current account with them. And most won't unlock a phone without an account unless the phone was bought from the carrier at full price. If you bought it from a reseller or a private sale, your best bet is one of the unlocking services.

I am almost certain if you were to ask here on CB, someone with an account with the company the phone is locked to, may help you out. I have done this in the past for a few people.

I got it from Best Buy and I paid for it, it was a prepaid phone, I remember when I needed an ATT phone unlocked and I was not with them, they did not even ask question, they unlocked it without any trouble

And would you be willing to help me? I would appreciate it

Again normally carriers don't do that unless you are a customer of theirs.
I would do it, but I have already gotten 4 phones in the past 2 weeks unlocked. According to the CS rep that did the last one, I will need to wait a couple of billing cycles before I can get another one done. She even asked if I had more than one I needed unlocked at the time, so I would not have to wait.

But send your phone info to me at blkbear1@gmail.com and I will see what if I can get another phone unlock code on Tuesday.

I bought TMO phones when I was still on AT&T. Why because they were cheap and I wanted another phone. Now that I'm on TMO, I have since had all my GSM AT&T phone unlocked and either given to friends or to a couple of cell phone drives (Battered Shelters and things of that nature). I have also bought a phone or two from Europe and had to have them unlocked (and trust me there is no Orange service here in Seattle) . I wasn't scamming when I bought phones that would not work in the area I live, so why should I assume others are also scamming as my first impression?

I agree with Larry,

the OP is wasting a lot of time, and aggravation, trying to get something for nothing. For a few dollars there are many pay unlock services that will do it in short order.

(I do not blame a phone company for not providing the unlock code to someone who is not a customer.)

.
It probably took all of 90 seconds to post this thread and only aggravation should be from the vitriolic responses some have made. A person who has PAID for a phone wants to be able to use it as he sees fit. Since it has been locked by a carrier he is seeking to unlock it and does not want to pay a THIRD PARTY to do so. Anyone who doesn't want to help should not. If you feel tmo is justified in not providing the code you are entitled to feel that way and I actually agree, tmo has no obligation to help. Who is harmed by this op getting that code thru posting in a forum? Only the third party unlocker who does not get paid to unlock this phone. Tmo is unaffected by this whether this op pays for the unlock or gets it from tmo via another customer. Nowhere is it an option to pay tmo for the code. Obtaining and unlocking phones to use on other networks is pretty common and any search of these forums will show how common a practic it is to not want to pay (again a third party) to simply allow a phone to work as it was designed. Plenty of tmo cust are using phones that once were locked by another carrier and many of those were able to be unlocked without paying someone to do so. If you can't or don't want to help that's ok but really it was worth the effort to ask.

stop being cheap and go onto ebay and pay for an unlock code. T-mobile will not unlock a phone for you unless you have an account with them for a certain amount of time.

So like I first said......Stop being cheap.
