Exclamation I need information about my upcoming upgrade.

I currently have a Blackberry 8900 with a family plan with two other people. I have unlimited internet and text with my phone. I am eligible for a full upgrade and my plan is up on March 10. I was wondering if i can change my plan to a FlexPay one on a single line.

Are you under someone else's name? Are you looking to put just your line into your name? If so, have you had your credit run already?

I thought Flexpay didn't require you to have a certain credit score, only postpaid. At least, that's what I was told. I used my Dad's name (he was there) to get postpaid because I don't have any credit (I'm young) so they told me I'd have to get FP if it was in my name.

It is currently under someone else's name and if it can go in my name i would do that. I'm only 17 and if i change to the flexpay plan do i still get a phone for the upgrade price. For example, the Blackberry Bold 9700 for $130.

Several problems. First, if you're under 18, you cannot run credit at all. Under T-Mobile's policy, you cannot even have a Flexpay monthly account (Stupid, I know). Secondly, if you do a Flexpay monthly, there are no discounts on phones. The 9700 is $450 full retail. Third, if you are asking about splitting the existing line off of the family plan into your name, you cannot do it if you only qualify for Flexpay. It has to move from a regular account to a regular account.

I've come to the conclusion that I would like to do the upgrade, but change my plan to a single regular contract line. For example, I want my own bill without the family plan. Age doesn't matter because it will be in the same name as before. Is that possible?
