Default I love my BB 8900, BUT HTC TP2 here I come! :D

After viewing videos and reading reviews on TP2 I now have to have one. I personally think it's better then a BB in every way, but that's my opinion. I know a Windows Mobile is crap, but this one is so much improved and the fact you could upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5 when it drops makes it even better. I had a Wing and that phone was so crap! But TP2 is no Wing and HTC improved so much that I will be dropping my BB 8900 for the TP2!

Who else?

I know I won't be disappointed but IF I am I will be back.

I will admit, it has a nice screen...but I wouldn't go for it simply because it is Windows Mobile. I could give a rat's *** that it's WinMo 6.5, I'll bet it'll still be sluggish.

The hardware of the TP2 is the same as the first TP...that's why I'm not feeling very optimistic about the speed of the device.

Anyway, good luck with WinMo! You'll need it

It's still a Windoze phone. The email client stores all emails onto the phone's memory and if you have a lot of large emails the phone will gradually slow down and you'll have to clean your email box out and restart the phone. As for the Blackberry, the emails are stored onto the BIS and you use BB to view the emails, thus not slowing down the phone as much.

Windoze phones are outdated even before they are released. I mean come on, a 3.2 mp camera without flash? no 3.5mm audio jack and slow as balls operating system that isn't finger friendly, who wants to poke at small letters, x's with a stylus? Yes the TP2 has a gorgeous display, but other than that, nothing to go running and wait in line just to purchase on at $400+. I'd save your money and wait for another phone to come out. Just my .02.

Hmmm, I don't know.

My 8900 is the most unbelievable device.

Friend of mine observed the other day ... "you sure are fond of that phone."

I responded, "you have no idea, it borders on something kinky."

I can't imagine leaving my 8900 headache designed by that clunk Bill Gates.

Do your research my friend. No sense in throwing money away in these times. I'd be weary of anything that has anything to do with Bill Gates and his cast of clowns.

Do my research? I've watched and read countless reviews. I saw a UK version comparison to many other phones and TP2 will be THE BEST Windows Mobile out when it drops. Also the fastest Windows Mobile out. I've done my research and after doing it, I look down on my 8900 and it has nothing on the TP2. Just an insult to myself if I keep this 8900 while the TP2 is out.

Don't forget doesn't matter about the phone as long as it meets your needs. Plus I love phones where you could hack into them and mod. Only got the BB because it was the hottest/bestest phone out for T-Mobile. The hottest/bestest phone out for T-Mobile will drop on August 12th.

I also like that phone but since the TP2 will not have UMA. It's a no go for me! I will stick with my 8900

I was interested in it too.. but the no UMA kills it for me also... I rely on UMA way too much. It does seem like a very nice phone, but its back to waiting for the Driftwood for me.

If the phone works for you, does what you want, and you like it... enjoy it. There is NO perfect phone. My curve is a good phone, but it has it fair share of issues.. but I still like it.

NO UMA? What a POS.

And the OP says he's done his homework? NO UMA? A dealbreaker for any serious smart phone buyer.

NO UMA? When did Gates design this? 1962?

NO UMA. LOL. What a joke.

Actually, not many devices support UMA...That's a T-Mobile-specific feature. I don't believe any other major carriers in the US support UMA.

Some people don't need it...perhaps the OP lives in a place with good reception both outside and inside buildings. It may be a deal breaker for you, but for many, it's not.

Where on my post did I say I cared about UMA? Exactly! I did my homework!

But that doesn't matter anymore. I decided to stick with my BB only because I just remembered Storm 2 will drop this fall. Didn't get the first Storm because it didn't have WIFI. I would have to purchase it then get it unlocked. Touch screen BB over any phone IMO!

The HTC TouchPro2 looks like a nice device. I've always wanted to get an HTC phone that I was even considering going to Alltel for the HTC TouchPro. I played around with it several times and the more I did, the more I wanted to get it but I wasn't going to pay an ETF just for that phone so I didn't switch.

Many people don't care that the phone doesn't have UMA. I for one would like that feature in any of the phones I own, even if I won't use it. 3G would be nice too just in case it comes to my town. It's just a matter of preference. If I had the money to throw around, I would get it just to try it out and see if I like it. I've own my Curve for a few months and I love it. The Curve is my bytch, I don't leave home without her. LOL I left my license at home one time but my bytch was with me for the ride to work and back. The HTC TouchPro2 is a beauty. Just look at it!

Doesn't look like that anymore. A little changes in color that's all. The more I look at new reviews or screen shots. The more I want it!!!

NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER

TOUCH A WINDOWS MOBILE. ITS THE BIGGEST LUMP OF ******* **** YOU WILL EVER HAVE. ITS SLOW, UNRESPONSIVE, CRASHES WHEN SOMEONE RINGS YOU, ETC. - IT WAS LIKE THIS IN 2003 WITH MY SPV, AND WAS EXACTLY THE SAME WITH MY LAST HANDSET JUST BEFORE I GOT BLACKBERRY 9000, 1 MONTH AGO.

Honestly. Don't go by its looks or what it SAYS it does - Whatever it does will not be complete. Its basically a crap OS which has had stuff forcefully bolted onto it as the years have gone by. WinMo 6.5 is basically a different looking 6.1 - 6.1 is just really 6.0 - 6.0 is based on 5.0 - 5.0 is based on PocketPC 2003 - And so on. In other words, what you really have in reality is...

Windows 95. On a bit of plastic.
