Raliegh NC. When i first got the 9000 everyone said 3g wasnt ever gonna happen! So stoked it did!

They've just got the AT&T 3G bands installed for Raleigh. TMO never released the 9000. This is a result of the failed death star TMO merger. TMO has up to 42 mbps on their own bands in Raleigh and have had 3G for years there as well.

I am on Tmo in the Phoenix area, and always seem to have a Rogers device so I was always stuck on EDGE. Now I get 3G too, thanks to their expansion of towers or whatever. Makes me a happy girl to finally be able to use my phone properly when away from my wifi!

Not really. It was a condition of the failed merger, that AT&T transfer some of their 1900 MHz spectrum to T-Mobile, and a bunch of cash to Deutsche Telekom (TMO's parent company.)

Yes, they do.

They actually transferred AWS spectrum in the 1700 MHz band. T-mobile is refarming their 1900 MHz spectrum that they ran GSM in before to support HSPA+. In the 1700 MHz they will support both HSPA+ and LTE. This will allow AT&T phones that have HSPA+ in the 1900 MHz range to run on T-mo if they are unlocked.

I always thought they transferred 1900 mHz spectrum. Didn't know they owned any AWS spectrum. Regardless, I like the awesome implications: a minimum of 3G speeds for customers, and possibly a larger 3G network than T-Mobile ever had on AWS (if ALL of the 2G spectrum gets refarmed.)

Now im reading theres alot of testing going on for the upcoming z10 bands to take effect perhaps thats why i got a taste of 3g as they shuffle em around.
