Angry I don't like the new plans!!

I hate the new plans
i wouldn't be saving if I switched my four lines to the new family plan! T-Mobile was stupid to change their plans! I pay $218 for four lines and if I switched $263.00 for the new plan! What a rip off!

I'm in the same boat my friend, but look at it this way, they aren't MAKING us change, we get to keep our grandfathered rates on services.

I personally am changing plans but I agree, for many it's a rip off.

I'm so glad tmo lets you keep your rates because there are some people who would really be getting hit hard with these new prices!

That's for sure. Their new family plans suck. I just spoke to Jerome, I believe that was his name, and he advised me to stick with my current plan of 1800 mins. I also have the 19.99 Sidekick data plan which is no longer offered.

So you must have the "Even More" plan with unlimited talk? Then the unlimited text and data on each line for another $20/line?

Even More for Families Unlimited Talk $99.99
Unlimited Domestic Messages (4) $40.00
T-Mobile Unlimited Web (4) $40.00
Add a line (2) $80.00

$259.99/month

Is that how your getting it?

Why wouldn't you go with the Even More Plus?

Even More Plus for Families Unlimited Talk + Text + Web $139.99
Add-a-line (2) $70.00

$209.99/month

A lot of people compare current rate plans to EMP, the current ones include subsidies (often as high as $350 as with the 8900) and EMP don't. So sometimes EMP is cheaper but you give up subsidies and depending on your circumstances, the amount saved in the plan won't make up paying $499 for a new BB. So go over pricing, usage and phones and see what works for you.

You're really looking at this backwards.

T-Mobile's goal wasn't to design pricing programs to appeal to existing customers just to cut their profit margins. It was to snake the 3rd-place position in the USA away from Sprint. And that is accomplished by getting lots of new subscribers.

These new plans may not be attractive to you but then T-Mobile already has you. The goal is to get new folks from Verizon, AT&T and Sprint. And as far as that goal is concerned, they should do quite well. I have a friend who is with AT&T currently and he's switching to T-Mobile because the new plan is better than anything he can get from AT&T.

I looked into the new plans. If I pay a fee of $35.00, I can save $5 a month. So in other words, it takes me 6 months before I save a dime. For the time being, I'm sticking to my existing plan. But then again, they weren't designing new pricing plans to appeal to me. They already have me as a customer.

I made the switch to the unlimited Even More plan today. @home service is free with this new plan So my bill will be 254.00 before tax plus I still get to keep my discount. i'm not happy but the myfav 700 plan for four lines was not enough mins.

Yup, I am leaving Tmo.

I only care about how much I have to shell out each month. I don't need all these little extras like unlimited minutes or w/e. If i get the basic family plan, it's about the same price as all the other carriers, so there is no longer a financial incentive to stick with tmo. I cannot buy the even more plus plan because I need to upgrade from my 3 year old 8100s.

You do realize that unlimited isn't your only option right? The low cost FT plan is still cheap, and still gives you more min than other big carriers for the same price...

again, the only thing i care about is the bottom line. i dont mind getting short changed in terms of minutes or w/e.

I will go to the carrier that has a phone that interests me. the only thing keeping me at tmo was their prices; now that the advantage is gone, i'm gonna switch to which ever carrier that has a bb that fits me. I want the storm 2, so i maybe switching over to vzn.

You can't be serious. Verizon has the highest prices in the business.

The thing I dont like is that with the Even More Plus plans you have to pay full price for the phones....unless I'm missing something.

am I?

If thats not the case then its a great deal for my 2 line family plan do be able to have Unlimited everything for 109.99

But I'm not paying $1000 for 2 new phones(its time for an upgrade)
