Default How is Tmo's 3G?

I am just curious but how is Tmo's 3G compared to other carriers?

Granted, it still has to be rolled out to many more places but how is it in terms of speed, reliability, etc.?

Thanks

compared to other carriers, its nonexistent. A friend of mine has the my touch (i believe thats that name of it) and never gets 3G. Wifi is great though.

For me (and where I live), it's exactly the same as AT&T - quick and functional.

Though... I'm in prime coverage spots for both TMO and AT&T.... it might not be the case for other people.

Which 3G network is "better" depends on what criteria you're measuring with.

Better coverage? Obviously tmo has a ways to go.
Speed? Sounds like tmo is about as fast as ATT.
Value for your money? (Cheapest) Tmo has that one won.

expanding on what artemis was saying....with the higher frequency you could conceivably get faster 3G speeds than VZW with closer location to tower......if your basing your statements on coverage maps I can tear vzw apart...considering there business practice is to place a tower then draw out coverage 6 miles around regardless of terrain....structure...signal....equipment...backh aul availability.....so in reality 3G is 3G....except that TMO will have there 21 MBPS completely rolled out before VZW or SPRINT COMPLETE their 4G......hmmm

coverage is a finite issue.....TMO has a way to go with structure penetration...as far as outdoor nationwide Ide put em up to VZW anyday.....peruse posts and youll see the majority of TMO complaint lie in indoor coverage or lack thereof.......thus enters UMA.......something that really no one other than a few regional carriers and Rogers in canada offers......Ide love to see VZW/SPRINT or ATT try to argue speeds.....or call clarity superiority over TMO UMA

Yeah, I met 3G coverage overall (like how many towns/cities are covered)...I bet they'll get there sometime. They should be rolling out 3G to my hometown within the year.

Indoor reception is definitely an issue but yes, I think UMA more than makes up for it. Just have to make sure that the phone is UMA-capatible.

Not knowing much a bb when I bought my phone, I asked the difference between my 8320 and another bb (not sure which one). The rep told me 3G on the other bb, but pointless as tmo doesn't have 3G in my city. So I bought the 8320 (well, signed up, the phone was free). So their coverage for 3G stinks. Thank goodness the 8320 has wifi, or I'd go crazy at home.

Im not sure I understand how you determine your 3G coverage stinks when you DONT have a 3G capable phone?
