Default How Good is T-Mobile?

From the Wikipedia website (T-Mobile (USA) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Quote ...

T-Mobile USA has captured at least 11 J.D. Power Awards in the areas of customer care, call quality, and overall customer satisfaction. In particular, it has dominated the wireless industry in the area of customer care and customer satisfaction, winning all customer care and satisfaction awards for all six surveyed regions for five years in a row.

... Unquote

The only other carrier who even comes close to T-Mobile for quality and performance is Verizon. Most other carriers in the USA are rated significantly below T-Mobile.

personally, i have to say i love tmobile.

i have had the same two lines with tmobile for the last 2 years. i have found their products to be durable (i had 2 tmobile [htc] sdas), the customer service to be good (online billing/in-store/on the phone with them) and their billing to be fair, esp compared to other conglomerates (at&t, sprint). i have never had them try to weasel in any extra costs and when i had billing q, they were always polite and eager to resolve the issue.

my service is pretty good in eastern washington. i've taken the phone across the country, across the state and had excellent results. i lose bars when i go out in B-F-E, rural idaho to camp, but that's kind of the idea with me.

i debated going to AT&T to get the iphone, but i just couldn't break with tmobile...they've been too good to me. i signed up for another two years with 2 blackberry curves.

I have used Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T/Cingular... I have not used Sprint in a long time, but have heard nothing but negative comments from co-workers (who use the company's discounts). Verizon was good, but nothing special. I had dropped calls and other problems with AT&T/Cingular.

Finally, T-Mobile - I had issues with their customer service a few years ago and had left them for AT&T/Cingular, but I came back and will be renewing my contract in a few months... I'm very happy with their customer service and their call service (not one dropped call or issue using 3 phones on a family plan).

yeah he does . he forgets that tmo doesn't work EVERWHERE...some carriers work great in different areas whereas some do not. Although I a a tmo customer an dlike tmo, I wouldn't put tmo as the best carrier. It really depends on where you live and what you r plans are.

Tmobile is the best carrier ever! Their customer service is amazing and I rarely have dropped calls! I am so pleased with them! They have awesome phones and their home phone service is a steal at 10 a month for unlimited! Their data plans are the best price on the market and they have great deals on their plans across the board!

Tmo may be the best for you but not for others. Sprint may be awful for some people and for some, they get complete coverage. It all depends what towers are in your area. I mean yes Tmo works for me and I like that I don't get dropped calls with my blackberry. But i do have to mention that before I got my berry, I was a loyal sidekick user and always I got dropped calls... I'd be talking and my mother would be screaming on the other side of the phone, or sometimes it was the opposite. It was awful. Who knows what I will do after I am done with my tmo contract. it all depends where I am at that time.

I'll make this to the point. You all aren't being realistic. I live in the ATL metro area and am a student @ Emory University. I have the worst service! My family has been with t-mo for about 10+ years now (when they were voicestream). VZW and ATT are so much better. Because I'm affliated with emory and so is my mom, I've convinced them that they could be on vzw @ a nice discount a month. I'm a firm believer in getting what you pay for. VZW has shown me through other users on this campus and around atlanta and other major cities and rural areas how good there reception truly is. I realized that I shouldn't have to use UMA to make calls/messages! I shouldn't have to feel out of the loop when I step outside and get 1-2 bars, or that ever so present SOS and then het voicemails/text messages that were backdated cause I didn't have service. Especially when VZW ot ATT get sometimes 3-5 bars in that very same spot. What would I even do without the UMA sometimes? Thank god I live on campus but that aline tells you that something needs to change. The lack of coverage is a major turnoff. Customer service should always be good, personally. I shouldn't have to call them in the first place. I think t-mobiles is that good only because they don't excel in the main reason they exist: AS A RELIABLE CELL PHONE COMPANY. All those gimmicks and cool phones mean anything if you can't make calls. Nothing. Borrowing a friends phone is beyond embarrasing, because its not about my image and personal insecurity but it is a hassle to those who pay for their service and get what they deserve. After this many years, I'm not happy @ all. Why settle for less? Yes. They have thw worst service overall. Sprint even trumps them at times. Its like saying xbox has great customer service. If the new xbox didn't have so many problems in its PRIMARY OBJECTIVE TO PLAY GAMES (make calls) you wouldn't have had to call in the first place and that point would have been null and void. As consumers we need to get our priorities in line and I think that supporting something that just happens to have good coffee & doughnuts in the waiting room doesn't make the doctor any better

It was painful to read the first half of this... so I stopped. And it must have sucked writing a book on WAP haha

Either way, TMobile is a great value and a great carrier... I have had no coverage issues, no service issues, etc. I am completely satisfied!

Seems like you should have looked into TMo's coverage before you decided to choose them as your carrier. Obviously, some areas have poorer coverage than others. And it is obvious that different carriers have different levels of coverage in certain areas. It may very well be true that VZW or ATT are better for your location... so it would make sense to use them as your carrier and "get what you pay for". Sorry to be blunt, but it would be dumb to use a carrier that has poor coverage where you live... that is your main problem.

*EDIT* : I finished reading the post, and have come to the conclusion that your logic regarding this issue is completely flawed. I am sorry... but it makes absolutely no sense to stay with a carrier when you get horrible coverage, and then complain about them. If you are not happy with TMobile, then cancel your service with them and use another carrier. It is honestly that easy... so I am not sure what the difficulty is.

Your comparison to XBox Support is also off track and does not make sense. 1) All products have defective units. 2) I have had experience with XBox Support and it was pleasant. My 360 died and within 3 weeks I had a replacement unit. Can't complain! Wake up and realize this is the real world and electronics can malfunction. And if you are not happy with something... then get something else.

I've been with every major carrier, and left them all at least once: VZW, Sprint, TMO (yes, once I did leave and then came back 2 years later), and AT&T/Cingular.

When did you actually test this??? It sounds like your family is paying the bills... they must not have been unhappy with the service.

From personal experience I've had dead zones in Sprint... had bad customer service experiences with VZW, as well as AT&T. And dropped calls on AT&T, but not with TMO in the same building month apart. Every location is different I'm sure, but VZW can't say this with any certainty in my area.

And ah yes, VZW told you they have they have better service/coverage in other major cities and rural areas... and you believe everything a sales person tells you... LOL!!!

Again, why did you stay with TMO if you were not happy?
