How to activate Unlocked AT&T Bold on T-Mobile?

i have searched the forums and i have googled, but i cant find what im looking for. well, im going to buy a blackberry bold from att and then unlock it and use it with my existing blackberry account from tmobile. what i want to know is how do i activate it without att? does it have to be activated before you unlock it? is there some special way to activate it when your not planning on using the carrier that is assigned to it? thanks in advance. peace.

If you're going to use it on TMO, why don't you buy from ebay? Or the marketplace here?

I would suggest buying an unlocked Bold from elsewhere, not ATT. You'll save money.

As for the activating, just get the BB data plan and go into BIS on the site. Enter in the IMEI # and pin and send the service books. You should be set. Lots of people are using unlocked Bolds on tmo. Remember though, you won't be able to use 3G.

I have another question. I bought a storm on ebay as a Vreizon original and it came unlocked for TMobile. Everything was fine until I downloaded the update and now some things like Pandora don't work. Any suggestions?

always be aware that purchases on ebay and craigslist may be difficult to return for problem phones (and no warranty)
