Yeah, if you already pay a lower rate for family messaging (like 9.99 or whatever) you're fine. This is for the newbies.

The 24.95 package came in during the same time that data plans were beginning to be required.

Yepp this is a very recent change, only a few weeks old, a lot newer than the data rate increase. If you have an older plan it'll get grandfathered but if you remove you msg bundle and try to add it again, they'll give you the new 24.99 bundle. Its only for new customers or customers who only now are switching to a fam plan. But then again if you're an old cust, you can toy with the CS reps or retention and sometimes get the 9.99 or 19.99 fam msg bundle lol

I went to the tmobile site (what's up with no mobile view?) and the prices don't look so good anymore.

The cost of doing business. It costs money to expand their 3G coverage so they pass the added cost onto their customers.

Man it stinks that the prices were raised. But I'm with ATT, and for as long as my husband and I have had the family messaging (almost 3 years) we've paid $30!!!! Now I think THAT'S ridiculous!! But from what I understand, ATT is ridiculous with the prices anyway. I would love to switch to another carrier, but the only one around here with any substantial signal is Sprint, and I'm definitely not switching to them! Verizon has opened a few stores, but their signal is not the greatest yet. I heard it would take a little while longer to get the signal and reception a little stronger in my area, but as soon as it does, I'm planning on switching! I'm tired of getting burned for minutes.
