Flexpay plans are tmo's way of offering service to people that would, in the past, have required a deposit. You keep money in a flexaccount, which pays for things like downloads, 411 calls etc. If you don't pay your bill one month, and calls you make would be deducted from the flexaccount as well, along with SMS etc. Basically it's a way that you don't incur any sort of overage whatsoever. The only "drawback" I've found with it is that your account gets suspended even if you're a day or two late paying your bill. Setup autopay and that won't be a problem. Phone pricing seems basically the same with a new 2-year. I never call 411 or anything like that, and I have autopay set up, so I've just kept literally a few cents in my flexaccount. Coverage is supposedly the same as pay as you go, however, in my area I have zero coverage issues. Hope this helps!

With FlexPay you are either eligible for a Monthly Contract or an Annual Contract, based on your credit. With the monthly you are on a month to month basis, but you have to pay full price for phones. With an annual you sign a one or two year contract and get the discount on phones

Rather than having to pay a deposit, you will only pay your first month's bill up front, plus the price of the device. Each bill there after is usually in the beginning of the month. If you need to change your plan, add a line, or change a feature, wait till the day before your bill cycle close date to ensure that you aren't over paying for the change in price plan.

Many people think that they have bad or no credit. They automatically assume that they will only be eligible for FlexPay, but once we run their credit, things turn out quite well and they walk away with a normal, Post Paid Annual Contract. I hope this was enough information to get you set up.

hahaha too bad I wasn't "most people". I would assume being 18 y/o and having (more than likely) 0 credit, flexpay would be the only option here as well. I'm just glad that tmo has this option available, I really didn't want to pay a deposit.

i have flex pay account with tmo. its pretty decent so far. you have to pay up front each month to continue service, and you dont get much discount on products (buy used, i did) but it does have decent plans including data and it allows to get any device you want. most prepay plans only allow crappy phones/devices. i am currently using the bb curve 8320 and i am satisfied with everything flew pay has to offer so far. even customer service has been great.

I also have a flex pay account and I'm quite satisfied with it. I think they actually give you 3or 4 days past your due date to pay before cutting you off. I really don't see that as much of a disadvantage. You aren't allowed to go over your minutes however, even if you do run out of minutes, you can still talk to your "FAV FIVE" if you have that plan and on nights and weekends if you have unlimited minutes there. I've never had a problem with it and you don't have to worry about contracts although you do have to pay full price for the phone. Such is the price you pay for bad or no credit. Actually though, there are plenty of people who elect to do this just so they don't have to be on a contract so don't feel bad. Even Verizon has something similar now but T-Mo's rate plans are much better. As for the flex acct which pays for downloads and such, rarely use it because I use the music on my SD card as ringtones. Much bigger and better slection for me. I've bought and paid for BB Themes from the Internet. I've yet to find something decent like that on T-Mo's web site anyway.
