Default help please! t-mobile sucks right now.

I'm at blackbert pearl user. I was so excited when the pearl 3g was announced. It seems t-mobile isn't going to release that phone. Ice tried to be patient and even tried other phone(android, windows) but keep coming back to my pearl. I love the SureType and I can text with one hand. I never brought and unlocked phone before. It looks as if that's the only way I will get this phone other than switching to AT&T which I don't want to do. Can someone help me with tips on purchasing unlocked phones and things I should be cautious of. THANKS!

Just because TMO doesn't have the one phone you have your heart set on doesn't mean they suck.

Buying an unlocked phone isn't much different than buying a locked phone. Put your sim card in, make a test call to ensure the microphone and speaker work, check for water damage, and just be aware if anything seems "off" about the phone or seller

Ok just because everyone else is jumping ship that's fine... But for those who are loyal to blackberry pearl it sucks. Blackberry pearl was a big seller for tmobile and now they have abandoned blackberry pearl users on their network. I've been with t-mobile for seven years I'm able to say they suck... Its kinds like being married you can say your wife sucks but still lay down with her at night... That's how it is.

Gotta love "I've been a customer for x amount of years" people. Where did people suddenly get this sense of entitlement? SMH...

I remember a while back that folks were buying the pearl3g from some other carrier that uses the same bands as tmo. They even mention where you can get it unlocked for $1 or something. Try searching for that new pearl here in the forums if you're willing to jump through hoops to get a new pearl.

Okay, i found 2 threads that talk about how to get the 9100. the first one is to buy it from newegg : Newegg.com - Blackberry Pearl Black Unlocked 3G GSM Smart Phone with Wi-Fi (9100)
It seems to have run out for the time being.
And at CBW, this forum talks about how to get it. :http://forums.crackberry.com/f197/if...o-read-499890/

And here's that guy's review about it :http://forums.crackberry.com/f197/cb...s-pics-508361/

Hope this helps you! $300 is not so bad since you don't have to renew your contract lol. If you want installment payments- pay with a credit card or what not.

seven years?

i've been with them since 1998. I singed a contract with Voice Stream, they got bought out and i've been with them ever sense.

and the only reason the Pearl was a big seller was
one ) they didn't have Android.
two ) they didn't require a data plan

And they do not suck. They are the fastest 3G/4G network in the nation, they have the largest next gen data foot print in the nation. They have the Two Top Dogs when it comes to Android, and they are ranked #1 year after year in Customer Service. Now granted i do not agree with their current mud slinging ad campaign.

but just because they do not have "the pearl" doesn't mean they "suck"....

and quit being lazy and do your research.

Cincinnati Bell based out of the Miami Valley in the mid west uses the same band as T-Mobile and they offer it on their network. Buy it at full price, unlock it and use it..... go big or go home

Yea go big or go home. People complain about XYZ phone not being on their provider. There are enough providers out there to get what you want. If you have to pay full price for it, then so be it. I cannot remember the last time i bought a phone at the "cheaper + 2yr " pricing.. .. .. Go big or go home.. .. ..
