Default Help me pls! T mobile curve 8900 function problems (malaysia)

I bought an unlocked T-mobile BB 8900 curve alot of things don't function i took it back to them to fix they said i need a 3G simcard, which means i need a postpaid or subscription to BB celcom service, But I can't even use my applications like MSN messenger, yahoo messenger etc with wifi connection? How can i use my applications in wifi connection only does anyone have similar problems pls? Help me I'm desperate.

NB. is it a good idea to use blackberry with Digi?

I believe Digi doesn't offer bb service, only maxis or celcom do, postpaid acct only, eventhough the telcos have 3G, bb8900 will use EDGE/gprs/gsm network for radio transmission. Most BB apps use data so you need to check which apps will use WIFI only connection. There are apps that will let you connect indirectly to those MSN/Yahoo messengers, I believe but I never tried them. I had TMo sim card using UMA to call the States for free, so never had a reason to switch to local sim card on my BB. I do have prepaid Maxis for local calls while I was there.
