Default Help: FlexPay to Normal Account?

Hello,

I have a FlexPay account with an 8700c on it (I know old) that I use for my consulting. I wanted to go to a full contract mainly to get a better phone so I went into my store and spoke to the person and they gave me a VERY VERY good deal on a Blackberry 8900 and said that he knew a way to transfer the number from my FlexPay to my regular line. He said that it wasn't very often something like that happened but said that it could be done. He told me to wait for 24 hours.

I called into Customer Care tonight to ask if I could get a time frame on the transfer and they did not know a whole lot about what was going on and said that according to the notes that activations was doing it. So I was transferred to activations and spoke to a man there who said that the transfer was just "not possible" and there was "nothing that could be done." He said that the notes in the account stated that they had received the request but that they were unable to do so.

Is there a way? I cannot lose this number, but I needed the better phone so I could get the WiFi calling, as T-Mo is not the strongest in my apartment. Any input would be great!

Thanks!

As of right now, we don't know of a way to migrate the Flex account to a Post account. I'm sure there is a way for Customer Care to do it, but it isn't easy. They would have to re-run your credit to see if your eligible to obtain such an account. If you were eligible then maybe they could proceed.

They already did that. The FlexPay didn't require me to run credit, but the 2-year line did. They ran it and I was approved. I have my 8900 with me right now with another number and my FlexPay phone.

I would do that but then I am still stuck paying for both... I will have my number with tmobile in contract and the flexpay. lol i thought of that too but then realized i didnt want to pay $150 a month for it. I am just going to go to the store again tomorrow and talk to the person who set me up. I didnt know if anyone on here had done it before.

You can transfer a number to another account, but there's a 50/50 chance that it'll work. Customer Care is the department that you need to talk to.

Is your flexpay account under contract? if not I would recommend porting the number out to a prepaid provider like att gophone, waiting a day or two and then porting the number in to your postpaid TMo account.

If you do this with att, you will need your gophone account number, name and PIN when bringing your number back to TMo. Get an ATT SIM card from a corp owned store, you will need to fund the account with a minimum of $10 IIRC and there should not be any fee for the sim card. Try to deal with ATT at corp owned retail stores only and when dealing with TMo try to work only with the number porting department or corp owned retail stores. Dont visit authorized resellers if at all possible. I also wouldn't try using online number porting forms since you are dealing with prepay and flexpay accounts.

Keep in mind that number porting has inherent risks to it due to various Local Number Portability rules, but there shouldn't be any problems. Porting usually only takes a few hours at most, but sometimes can take up to 24 hours each way.

Jamestbrewer, that is the best way to do it.

Only other option you have is when you were approved for the 2 year contract what you do is have them give you a new number and you will still have your flex pay # as well. then you can move your flex pay # over to your new 2 year contract.

If you have any problems with this at all send me a PM and ill take care of this for you.

Im an Administrative Manager for T-Mobile Limited. So any help i can do i will.
