Default [GUIDE] How to use Blackberries with Sidekick Plan

First off, let me inform you that this precedure on the Blackberry Curve 8320, so, if you do not have a Blackberry 8320, you are following this guide at your own risk. The web browser, "Opera" must be installed in order to browse the internet on your Blackberry device. I must also inform you that any harm done because YOU did something not shown in this guide is not my responsibility. This runs via TCP/IP so it runs rrather slow. Things like BBM, Push Email, and most third party apps will still not work.

So, without further adou, let's begin.

1. Press Menu -> Options -> Advanced Options -> TCP

2. For the "APN," type: hiptop.t-mobile.com

3. For the "Username for APN," type: dummy

4. For the "Password for APN," type: dummy

Now that you've got that done, open the web browser, "Opera," to test out the data. If all goes well, you should be able to see the page that you are trying to go to. Otherwise, you did something wrong. If you have any questions, you are more than welcome to post or Private Message me. If you have another device that you need help with, ill do the best I can to help.

You can actually load the service books and use the T-zones browser free with no data plan at all.

You should also mention that this is via TCP/IP and is pretty slow, BBM, push email, and most third party apps will still not work.

I tried this exact same thing with my 8900 last year and it didn't work.

As far as I read, it can work for unlocked Iphones but not well for BBs.

Blackberrys do not work on pre-paid SIMs.

BBs probably won't work on the prepaid tmo sim Sidekick plan. It used to work for iPhones but T-Mobile plugged that loophole ages ago.
