Default GSM Phones?

I am completely knew to all of this.
I was wondering if ANY GSM phone will work on Tmobile? Including Tmobile here in Germany?

Any info would be grateful Thank you!!

If you unlock the gsm phone, yeah it will work...calls, texts, data, etc.

Yep, sure am.

Forgot to add...3G bands can be different across carriers so sometimes, when you unlock a phone and go to a different carrier, 3G won't work. You'll still get EDGE though, so data will work, it will just be a bit slower in terms of video streaming and tethering. If you're mostly just messaging though, you won't see a difference.

It's worth noting that certain phones (Generally lower end ones) only have the GSM frequencies for their intended country. For example, many low end ATT/TMO phones only have the two frequencies for North and South America. Such phones wouldn't work in Europe or Asia. The reverse is true for some European and Asian targeted phones
