| | Goodbye, T-Mobile!
Yesterday I ported my number back to Verizon, re-activated my BlackBerry 8330.
T-Mobile graciously allowed me to cancel after a couple of months and Costco refunded what I'd paid for my BlackBerry 8900, I'll miss that phone a bit.
Why? I signed up for this plan: Unsupported Browser
"This plan includes:
• Unlimited e-mail
• Unlimited Web browsing
• Voice calls $0.20 per minute, including nationwide long distance and roaming"
But.... I was charged .45/minute for voice calls, 2.25x the advertised price. CS, after 3 calls in which they admitted it should be ..20/min finally informed me the website and the brochure were/are both in error, the price was increased before I signed up and they'd change the website and brochure. The extra price for the voice calls will possibly bring the price over VZW's price and, since it's not the plan I to which I agreed, I can leave w/o an ETF so I decided I'd rather have the better coverage and, most importantly:
IF I'M GOING TO BE LIED TO BY CUSTOMER SERVICE, I PREFER TO BE LIED TO BY PEOPLE I KNOW!

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that you switched. But I do agree, it was an error on T-Mobile's part and they didn't fix it when you pointed out to them.
While I love tmo CS, sometimes I wish more reps were informed of the plans. It's unfortunate that it resulted in you leaving but then again, I can't blame you. I'd be frustrated too!

Good luck paying for the plans at VZW. T-Mobiles are half the price and #1 CS in the industry... I know there are some bad experiences, but everyone makes mistakes.
I called VZW once, I'll never call again. They answered the phone with "What do you want?" I immediately hung up.

Yeah this was news when all this happened. Since T-mo changed pricing and didn't tell there customers by law you can get out of the contract no ETF this took place in like early spetember. I have the article save from BGR who first reported it. The pricing only changed on some tmobile lower plans. After project Dark releases though Tmo will have the best pricing hands down though. VZW is super bogus in pricing! Price gouging if you ask me!

Sorry to burst another bubble, people who think T-Mo is cheaper than others or VZW is more expensive than others are just plain wrong. It depends entirely on the plan you have.
When my contract expired I checked every major carrier and found AT&T would exactly match my VZW price, the plan I wanted to sign up for on T-Mo would would probably have been about $5.00/month cheaper than VZW depending entirely on the number of minutes I used for voice calls at $0.20/minute but, based on $0.45/minute, would have probably cost about $15.00/month MORE than my VZW plan.
Nobody else came close, I know AT&T doesn't have coverage in at least one place where I need it so back to VZW was my best option since T-Mo let me out with no EFT and VZW took me back with no contract.
Based on project Dark information which now shows on the T-Mo website, the above hasn't changed.
BTW, the website still shows voice calls at $0.20/minute so CS lied to me about the $0.45/minute but that makes no difference since they weren't willing to honor the $0.20 price.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you call T-Mo CS or VZW CS, don't believe anything they say. |

OoooK. I guess you are unhappy with your per minute service plans. Sounds like you are a great candidate for a Boost Mobile or one of the cheaper dealers. I am pretty sure that calling customer service reps "liars", isn't getting you anywhere. On a side note: I called T-Mobile's customer service and they said I was very handsome! I want to believe them. Can I please believe them?

That sucks, I'd be unhappy too. Hope VZW works out for you.

Anyway, I'm out of here.
