Default Getting the Vibrant, but no upgrade to my line

Hi,

I am getting the Samsung Vibrant from my BB 9700 and I have a question. Currently, I have a Blackberry Unlimited Web Plan ($30). I am getting Vibrant way before my time of upgrade, so there is no change in my plan. But since Vibrant is not a Blackberry and is an Android phone, do I have to change my internet plan to something else that is not "Blackberry Unlimited Plan"? IF so, how do I do that? I tried to go on my Tmobile account to change it, but it has no other smartphones selection, only Blackberry. Does that mean I have to change my current "phone"?

Please help.

Thanks

I don't think you can do that on your Tmo account online, but you will have to call customer service and they will do that for you.

I had the same thing. I have a Bold 9700, then I got the Vibrant and went online and change the "phone" (as you put it) and it didn't work. The internet stopped working about three hours after I switched SIM card from one phone to the other. However, as soon as I called Tmo customer service they switched it on their side and it worked fine.

Oooh, is the plan for Vibrant the same price? $30/mo? And what if someone else in my family uses my BB 9700, but they don't have internet plan on theirs?

The Android data plan is either $25 or $30. I can't remember off the top of my head.

No data plan, no data. He can still use the phone... without data.

If they find out he is using a smart phone they may try to make you buy a data plan.

They won't make him put a data plan on the phone unless you buy a smartphone at a discount on a 2 year contract

I wanted to try out an Android device but I was told I need to have at least a $30 data plan to be able to switch back and forth between my BB and the Android device. I currently have the web-only BB data plan for $25. As long as I have the $30 data plan, it can be done. They just told me I need to call them whenever I wanted to use one of the phones.
