Default G2's are arriving already.

I just received my G2 about an hour ago. I'm just waiting for the new SIM card to be registered on the network. I can't wait to retire my Bold.

Congrats. It's an awesome phone. T-Mobile's actually been showing off pictures of people with their G2's already on twitter.

No UMA no Android for me and that watered down version of UMA called WiFi calling is not going to work for me. I will wait for the 9780.

What's your complaint with UMA Lite? The only difference is no hand-offs. I've never owned a Blackberry that successfully completed hand-offs more than 20% of the time anyway, and I've owned a LOT of phones.

K Bear - Awesome, isn't it? Was watching embedded Youtube videos earlier, just because I can. Apple can say what it wants. Flash can be darn impressive

Anyone want to buy my 9700 for full retail so I can afford a G2?

Looks like a sweet phone...and what is exactly hand-offs? I need UMA to work and make calls without dropping any at home...reason I left Andriod from the mytouch and Cliq awhile back...

Interested in this phone, but not sure how well this UMA lite will work...

K Bear, does the G2 have UMA? I'm interested to see if it comes with that app...

I'm fine with no hand-offs. I just really need UMA.

Same question as artemis

I have to have UMA and am concerned about what I actually will be getting. No handoff is a slight pain but no worse then when it first came out and was dropping calls when i walk out my front door. I currently get perfect handoff but would sacrifice to get no handoff uma on android.
I REALLY can't give up UMA at all it saves me about 1000 minutes a month with my uma package from tmobille

Looks like a real sweet phone. I still have my G1 which I love playing with the Apps on there, but right now I prefer the Storm 9530. You can't say anything bad about Android though.

No, the G2 does not come with the UMA app out of the box. It will be able to use it when it is released.

Darn, I hope it's released soon

Just curious, but how much did you pay to pre-order? I'm guessing it's 199 with 2 year upgrade.

I paid a few dollars less since I acquired the device thru an Employee Upgrade. When the UuMA app becomes available, I'll let you know how it works. I'm already missing UMA at home since we have 2-3 bars of EDGE in the house. I have WiFi on for data which helps.

My understanding is that the new LG Android device will be the first to release with the UMA app pre-loaded.

Yeah that's what it sounds like...LG device should have it first. But the G2 should get it soon.

Which LG device are you guys talking about? The myTouch HD description has WiFi calling listed as a feature and as far as my knowledge goes HTC makes the myTouch phones as well.
