Default Free My Favs!

Haven't seen this posted here yet, but sorry if I missed it:

Tmobile is running a free upgrade - add-on my Favs for free to your phone plan. A contract extension is required, and I think you can't have any discounts on your plan for you to qualify. When calling customer service ask for the customer loyalty department, and then ask them about the free My Favs promo.

I added it on to my grandfathered $50 family time plan last night, and they even backdated the myfavs for the month, so my minutes used decreased from 600 to 286! I'm not sure how long the promotion lasts, but last time they ran it (in August), it lasted only a few days.

NOTE: Don't be discouraged if the CS rep you get doesn't know about it -- the one I originally talked didn't know about, so she had to put me on hold, then get back to me a minute later before applying the add-on.

Credit should go to HowardForums, where I found out about the deal.

Does this add-on still work if you already have the my favs plan? I currently have a sidekick plan with the my favs. Can I change the my favs out for the free one? And am I understanding this correctly?

Some people have been able to downgrade their plan to a non-my faves plan, and then adding the free my faves add-on afterwards (all during one call to CS). Good luck!

I just called tmobile and this offer is still valid, however due to me being off work for the next few weeks it would not benefit my family to change from our grandfathered plan of 1200min/79 a month.

the CS rep was super knowledgeable and helpful. Thanks for the tip. I will try next month when i return to work, lowering our monthly plan to a family plan and having free my faves.

What if you're opening an account? How long does this offer last?

I'm not sure about your first question, although I read from a forum at SlickDeals.net that the promo is on the table until Monday.

Do it now, get any phone then trade it for the 8900 while still under the trial period.

Yeah but something involving "customer loyalty department" sounds like it's only available to existing customers

Hmm... I did this same thing not long ago, but not because they ran the promo.... It's possible they are doing it to get older customers unaware of MyFaves to switch over, and to get new customers to use it before they use the regular plans. Possible ploy to remain competitive with Alltel?
Thanks for the heads up, anyway - I'm sure people here would be happy to hear the news *thumbs up*
