Default Finally eligible for upgrade - need best price

My husband & I are on a family plan with my parents and unfortunately my dad has always stolen all our upgrades.

I am finally eligible for an upgrade and would like to move up from my Curve 8320 (that I had to buy from a friend of a friend who worked at a T-Mo store).

I am looking at the 8900, anyone know who has the best price for it with an upgrade? I dont want to do Wirefly because our plan is grandfathered and I dont want to alter it.

[I've decided not to wait for 9700, 3G and trackpad are not that exciting to me]

Thanks!

Mmm I would suggest u do wait for a 9700 it would be a big upgrade from a 8900 and a huge upgrade from a 8320 its more then just a track pad and 3g but if u don't have ur eye on the 9700 then the 8900 is a fine device if ur eligable for a upgrade just go to a corp store n grab it for 150

Yeah, the $50 more it'll cost you to get a 9700 in just a couple weeks (that's my personal estimate, $199 on contract) really will make a big difference in the long run. Won't ever run into trackball issues (thank you Trackpad!) And it'll be running the latest OS (5.0.0.xxx and from my unofficial beta testing on my 8900, it's certainly MUCH better) and has faster processors then the 8900. So overall, when you consider a 2yr contract, that $50 extra will save you on reliability. (Possible trackball issues) as well as you won't be getting an already year-old phone.

Just as everyone else has said, wait for the 9700. The 8900 is a great device but the 9700 is even better. I have an 8320 and I would love to upgrade but I have a little more than a year left for a full upgrade and I will not switch to the new EM+ plans to take advantage of the new 20 installment plan because it doesn't suit me.

Armondo175: why not, what's the reason to not switch to the em+ plans?

According to CSRs, I have a great plan that works great for me. These are the services I currently have:

- myFaves for Families 1800 minutes for $89.99 (promo)
- Unlimited Messaging for Families for $24.95
- Sidekick Unlimited for $19.99 (no longer offered)
- Premium Handset Protection for $5.99
- Blackberry Unlimited Web for $24.99
- CallerTunes for $1.49
- Family Allowances for $2.00
- 3 Additional lines @$9.99 each ($29.97)

Including taxes, it comes out to roughly about $225 per month. I average anywhere from 800 minutes to about 1400 minutes a month. It wouldn't make no sense for me to switch to any of these EM+ plans which will cost me more than what I am paying right now. Most of my services, if not all, are grandfathered. I believe that Family Allowances is $4.00 now and myFaves have been discontinued.

EM+ won't save everyone money. For all intents and purposes, MyFaves is gone as a calling feature. Family Allowances is now $4.99, as of about 6 months ago. EM+ is perfect for those who already own a phone or those with multiple lines on an unlimited plan.
