Default Email Accounts

I recently purchased an used unlocked BB Bold 9000 for AT&T. Everything works great on the T-Mo network and the phone is working fine.

According to the seller it was flashed and completely erased. I also used Desktop Manager just in case.

Here's the weird thing: when I connect to Wifi I somehow receive e-mails connected to the seller's email account.

I try to connect to email setup, but because I am not a AT&T user I get rejected in connection. I know with T-Mobile, I can connect my phone through its PIN and receive e-mails that way. I've tried through WAP and Wifi, both unsuccessful in connecting to this AT&T email setup.

I am unsure whether this is a problem on my end or a problem on the seller's end. T-Mo Customer Service is excellent when it came to the Bold but the reps I spoke to have never encountered this problem.

I can live with this but it is annoying. I also don't want to invade the person's privacy.

ATT needs to release the PIN. Have you checked your BIS to see which email addresses show up or check your service books to remove unwanted service books?

That's what I thought, right. I went through my service books and deleted anything related to AT&T. Yet, the e-mails keep coming. Occasionally, I'll get 1 or 2 emails through the network, but I'll receive the entire load when I connect to wifi.

My BIS has only my T-Mo mail right now. I haven't added my personal ones yet nor do I see any other email.

Check your service books on your BB to make sure that there isn't something hanging around.

I had the same issue. The quick fix is to call T-Mobile and have them transfer you to their Blackberry department. Ask them to remove the AT&T provision on your phones PIN. Once it's removed, ask T-Mobile to re provision your phone. You'll stop receiving the previous owners e-mails and can begin setting up your own.
