Default EM+ to old plan?

Is it possible to go back to my old Unlimited Loyalty plan from EM+?

I'd like to so I can take advantage of the new policy about upgrades (smartphone owners can upgrade earlier).

If not, well bummer. :P but I just wanted to see if it's possible. Would Retentions be able to help if I ask nicely? I know they have more "power" than most reps.

Once you've left a grandfathered rate plan, you can't go back to it.

More specifically, you cannot go from an EM+ back to a contract, unless you quit service (Or switch providers) and wait 90 days before re-applying

Yeah I don't know why that is with the EM+ plans...you can NEVER switch back it seems.

Any idea if this policy is to change in the future?

Thanks for the input guys.

You need to call retentions and argue about this. Tell them how the new upgrade policy is not fair to you as the change comes only three months after they introduced EM+. You got on EM+ to save money but the new upgrade policy takes you out of that equation in a two year cycle.

The only way I could see them changing it is if another set of new plans were rolled out.

Actually, I called up and asked nicely and the CSR woman was able to change it back for me. I'm really happy. I didn't think it was going to work but I thought, aw, it's worth a shot. And look what happened! Wow.

My contract is back and now it ends in Sept '10 so I could get the 9700 now for 129 or wait and see. I think I will wait and see.

Hey Artemis. I'd bite the bullet and go for the 9700. It's not likely you will see any revolutionary (BlackBerry) devices in the next few months. And the sooner you get a 9700, the sooner the clock resets and you'll be able to get another device (February 2011).

How can you go wrong for $129?

I'm glad I kept my Loyalty Plan and didn't switch to the EM plans.

You're right berryite, I guess I'll go to the 9700. 129 is not bad at all. If I sell my 8900, I'll be able to make up for the cost of the 9700 plus some.

You were smart to keep it. :P I did the dumb thing by switching too quickly. When the new policy came in that smartphone owners can upgrade every 1 year instead of 2, I was so disappointed with myself. I'm glad that T-Mobile got me switched back. Big mistake on my part.

Nah, you're being too hard on yourself. It's cool, you got right back where you belong.

I sold my 8900 for $200 (with ALL the accessories ... and it was in immaculate condition). My guess is you can do something similar. Suggest you consider Craig's List which is what I did.

Let me know how it works out for you!

:-)

I guess you got lucky artemis. I just got off the phone with CS and she told me she couldn't do it. She tried too, but she couldn't do it. I'm a little miffed at myself as well at this, but I thought saving 30 bucks are a good thing for me so I moved over. It would be nice if they would allow you to get back on contract.

Did you talk to Retentions? That's who I talked to because I knew what I wanted to be done may not be possible for regular reps. Retention reps seem to have more power/flexibility.

No I didn't. I have one of the installment plans that might cause a problem. I'll try tomorrow. I'm wanting to make the switch for my other two lines. From the looks of the next couple of berry's are not going to be what I'd want anyways so I'm fine with my bold. I assume when I call I ask to talk to retentions or cancel my plan? Right?

Just call 611 and say "cancel" at the prompt, correct.
