Default ECHO... ECho... echo

Anybody else get the classic "T-Mo echo"? I've heard a swap of sim card is the simple fix, but I've been through three, as have I been through four phones, and all have done it. It varies in severity, today being the worst I've ever had it, but it's always there, even when slight or faint. What I find really funny is that it changes it's, what I call, "level of interruption". Meaning that sometimes it waits until I've finished speaking before it even starts, completely overriding the conversation on the other end of the line, while others it's almost like one of those horrific Hip-Hop-Pop songs where some loser speaks (not even sings!!!) into a synthesized microphone with auto-echo set - or like a camp sing-along where the men start the verse and upon the second or third word the women then chime in, following a word or two behind. Man am I tired of it, at the same time, I'm not going anywhere. My life consists of texting, my last few bills put together didn't top 100 minutes of talk time... LOL! Anyway, just curious to know if I'm the only one. I had this a few times when with Sprint, a very long time ago, never with Verizon, and a few with AT&T. When taking all into consideration, GSM & CDMA networks alike, it doesn't seem logical to say that it would be the sim card. I'm beginning to think that's just the generic answer you get from Tech Care no matter the issue, just to send you away and get you out of their hair. LOL!

I get it sometimes when I'm on UMA and the connection is a little iffy. But it's really not that common for me.

Never have on UMA, but EDGE bars yes, at times. I sometimes ask if I can hang up and have them call me back and seems to fix the issue.

Nothing seems to be perfect in technology...

Like you I text more than talk.

I get it no matter who calls and no matter the data network connection, also no matter the bars. I don't use UMA, though did once, it too gave echo. I'm a T-Mo sales rep, and it angers me that even my own CS tells me to just replace the sim card, pat the customer on the arse and send them on their way. I live in an EDGE only area, but so do two of my fellow coworkers, same town, that haven't the issue. This is what perturbs me. Oh well, it is what it is, and at least I don't get that annoying Verizon "All networks are busy at this time, please hang up and try again." I got that every day on the VZ... boo to the red!

It happens to me sometimes..... I'd say 0-3 times a month! i always ask the person on the other end if they can hear it and they always say no. So I assume its a T-mo thing?

Does it happen everywhere? Or just in certain areas? I have an echo problem at home only due to my neighbors having a listening device that interferes with all of our stuff- like the tv and whatnot. I even get the static that cordless phones have when experiencing interference.

I get it everywhere and with three different simcards. I have had a few calls that had it so faint that it almost wasn't noticeable, but it sure does annoy the eballz outta me.

I get this but only when talking to VZN customers; both land line & cell. So, in my area it's not TMO.

Beyondthebox: I notice you are in the Portland area, as am I... N Portland. Cell tower 2 blocks west of my house, full 3G signal. The only issue I have with TMO (11 years) is I work 2 blocks the other side of the same tower and get sos signal. Not just me, anyone with TMO has the same problem. Phones say the connection is ATT. Carriers other than TMO work just fine. Liveable problem as I don't need to be on my phone while at work. Next time I upgrade I'll look you up. Lloyd Center kiosk staff (not all) are a joke.
