I agree they need something and the 9780 and 9300 dont count as something to compare to, but the 9800 doesnt "wet my whistle". I still think the 9700 is the best BB out there. period. so i am ok with that for now.

Meh, My current BB is still working like it did before the announcement. I want a 9800, but its not going to ruin my quality of life to wait a while.

Yep, still very happy with my 9700 so I'm not terribly sad that ATT has the new BB. I can wait for a bit.

My point is really not about the 9800, but more the fact that TMO seems like they are only trying to keep their android customers. Tons of android stuff coming out. BB users seem to be forgotten with TMO. Yes, I will take a look at the 9780, and when I am up for 1 yr in November, i'll see what I can do about a 9700, but it just seems like we are getting left behind by TMO.

i dont disagree. But I think the only release we have missed is the 9800 and the 9100. I would like to see the 9100 on the t-mo list soon. This might help things. But in reality we have the Curve and the Bold, and the storm is headed to EOL. If we can pick up the pearl and say the "storm 3" then i think the line-up is strong.
But they need another device, i do agree.

also, the new pearl and storm would make it a great line up, but i dont think we are getting the 9100 anytime soon.

i think the best way to strengthen up the line up for tmo is to bring the most os 6 phones. that way, they can say that they are the carrier with the most os6 phones and therefore they have the greatest selection on up to date BB phones.

T-Mobile has a vested interest in the Android platform. But, that being said, if RIM does not come up with phones that are appealing to T-Mobile, customers are not going to have a chance to get them. Also, it's hard to get devices when RIM is signing exclusivity deals with Big Red and the Death Star. If anything, you all should be pissed at RIM for not bringing out better devices.

If anything, you shouldn't be pissed about stuff that isn't going to ruin your life, or stuff you have no control over.

Its irrelevant what is appealing to T-mob, what matters is whats appealing to the consumer.
I do agree with you about the exclusivity deals though.

It was my understanding that the exclusivity between RIM nd ATT for the 9800 is good for 6 months. Do you not believe TMO would get the phone after that?
I agree that it appears TMO is trying to corner the Android market much in the same way ATT cornered the iPhone market; the only difference is in the number of available devices.

I do agree with you about the exclusivity deals though. | What you forget is that carriers are 1st line customers.
