| | Does T-Mobile still do the 10 dollar a month landline?
As title states.
Just wondering if they still offer this as I can't seem to find any info on their website, but maybe I am putting in the wrong keywords.
Trying to cut back on my cable bill as I go through Time Warner and currently pay 170 a month, which is all bundled together with cable phone, cable and Road Runner Internet.
Thinking of trying this phone line through T-Mobile if they still offer it and switching to Dish and keeping RR if possible or using a different Internet provider. Time Warner I don't think will let you switch plans for something cheaper I don't believe, hence looking else where.
Thanks for any help.

You might call your local T-Mobile store and ask but don't be surprized if they tell you it's gone.

Well that sucks!
So you have to have a even more plus plan in order to get a wi-fi router to use UMA or they just getting rid of it completely? If so, I imagine a lot of folks would be upset.

Also anyone know how to get a cheap landline? Maybe magic-jack? We all have cell phones, but get a crappy signal in our apartment and need a landline.

The UMA feature on phones is still available to be used over wifi, it will just cost normal min like a normal call.
Hotspot@home is different...that's being phased out.
As for a landline, I can vouch for Vonage here. I have a couple friends who use them and the calls sound great to me. Guess it depends on your internet connection too.

Home service is still available. It's not actively being marketed and can only be purchased at T-Mobile stores. The service is still actively being supported, but it will eventually be phased out.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com | I must be confused, I thought you had to use a hotspot@home to get wifi to make UMA calls unless you could get it from someone else like a next door neighbor, which I have done, just is a weak signal, so I bounce from EDGE to UMA.
Also thought you just had to pay for the wireless router and ypu could make calls/texts and browsw the net for free?
Vonage isn't much cheaper than my digital cable phone. Magic-jack is, but heard good and bad about them as well....
Might just stick with what I have.

The Hotspot router focuses the signal to optimize the signal for UMA.

| You MUST go into a TMO Corp store to still get the service, and you MUST be a current TMO customer. You will HAVE to purchase one of two versions, of the @Home router, which you will put the SIM card they give you for the service (yes it uses a SIM for the land line service).
So as long as you already have broadband internet service, you can use the @Home (land line service). You are also at the mercy of stock on hand, as far as the TMO SIM enabled router boxes.
Just signed out a couple of friends Monday (well sent them into a store anyway).
Don't know about Magic-Jack, other than the current version, forces you to have a computer on 24/7 if you want to make or receive phone calls.

If you ever get one, choose this router: http://www.comparecellphonedeals.com...outer-xl-3.jpg
There's 2 different one, the other one sucked.

Thanks for the help guys. I will head into the T-Mobile store tomorrow and see how much it will all cost. Just trying to save some dough is all. I am happy with my bundle package through Time Warner, just too much money anymore.

What do you mean grandfathered in? Like a current customer? If so, I have been with them over 2 years, just now getting into my smartphone and other options, lol!
Is this UMA thing really being phased out? Would hate to spend money on this all for it to be done for in a short amount of time.
