So is your issue that your an elitist, or anti walmart, or just that people who cant afford a Google Ion running CM6RC2 shouldn't be on TMO? I want TMO To succeed so I don't have to go to the Death Star for my service. The way a business succeeds is by expanding it's customer base. This will help that to happen. The more people paying TMO, the faster we get HPSA!

The more people paying TMO, the faster we get HPSA! | IF i am paying 142.00 per month for unlimited everything for 2 phones, and these guys get away with paying 45.00 per month and get the same exact service that i do, i don't see how it is fair for the "premium / Official T-Mobile Customers" still have to stick to their higher prices.
They only benefit of this is this.
my current plan
-Unlimited Talk
-unlimited Text
-10G of data per month/perline
for about 72.00 per line
if i were to have this same plan on this "wal-mart" line is $800.00 (10G x $40.00/gig x 2lines) just in data charges....
and i bought my phone off of craigslist.org ... so it has nothing to do with value of the phone.

There are lots of other cheap carriers...Cricket, StraightTalk, etc. I doubt they are ALL going to run over here.
There are no details out right now, so we have no idea what's going to happen. I'm certain there will be a "catch"...either a contract OR the people are going to have to pay full retail for phones. That's the only way T-Mobile can make money off these people. And you have no idea what they will be getting for a month at those prices. Will it include smartphone data? Are they restricted to only "dumbphones"? Is there a data limit? No clue.

I got the internal details on this today, and I cringed. I will try my hardest to keep my personal feelings out of this thread, because it will not be positive comments. Here are some facts that were given to us:
- The initial handset lineup will consist of five devices, one of which is the Cliq XT.
- TMO employees and stores are not to support the products and services (Thank F-ing god) because Walmart is the distributor.
- All plans are non contract, so all phones are purchased at retail price.
- As with all MVNOs, the users will not have access to all TMO towers, so they will have a reduced coverage map.
- All plans are unlimited talk and text. Data is optional.
- Base rate is $45 for one line. $25 each additional line.
I'll answer any questions as best I can.

@ 45.00 for the first line then 25.00 per add on line...
so if cricket is 45.00 per phone number... a family of 4 is 180.00 (not including taxes)
and if Wal-Mart Mobile (WMM) is 45.00 (NIT) for the first number, then 25.00 (NIT) per line (45.00 + 75.00 ) 120.00
Thats a savings of ~ 60.00 (NIT).....
yes, it is cheaper than anyone else out there... it's junk... it's going to turn us into a ATT...
now granted the data is 40.00/Gig and that will hinder alot of people using the data features of their phones but it will still be stupid crowed once it catches on.....

So is this the replacement to "Straight Talk" (which ran over the Verizon network)?

I HIGHLY doubt this is going to catch on with data users. $40/1GB is way too much. I think families who talk/text a lot will hop on, but not data users. Really, 1GB will not be enough and they aren't going to want to risk the overages.
I wouldn't worry, ok?
