Default Data plan question

I've got an 8900 and would like to add the data plan.
If I add the data plan today about how long does it take before I will actually use it? And How can I tell the data service is active? Thanks for the help.

I believe its pretty fast... but can't you call them and ask since you're going to activate it anyways?

When I called to inquire about contract and data pricing the cs agent told me it could take up to 2 days. I'm sure its quicker than that. I was more interested in how to tell the service is activated on my phone.

Are you Flexpay or postpaid? It's much faster with postpaid. Flexpay will activate at 7:00AM EST the next day.

Do you get billed for your previous months service or for your next?

if you get a bill every month, it should be for the previous months. take a look at the bills, they say the date, like May 3 - June 3, in that format.

My present bill is service charges from 4/20 - 5/19. The bill is due 6/15.

Yep, you're postpaid.

The data plan should provision within an hour or so. Really, it's really fast. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
