Default curve 8520 using 9700 5.0 os

I called t mobile customer support yesterday to see if they had any ideal when 4.7 of 5.0 would be out for the curve 8520. they advised me not for a while however the 9700 they just got runs on 5.0. im wondering if i put this os on my phone will it work given the screens a different size and the 9700 has many different options than the 8520 or will this screw the 8520 up ?
thanks in advance

Computer-programfiles-common files-research in motion-apploader-there you should see Vendor file

be sure to back up your device using desktop manager, and be sure you know how to revive your device if its an unsuccessful boot

You will only lose the myFaves interface on the phone. As long as the myFaves are set on the my.t-mobile account, they will still count and minutes will be unlimited to those callers. A lot of BB users, including myself, dislike the wheel to begin with.

yeah my phone didnt have the myfaves anyway. since t mobile moved to the everything more plan i think they have done away with the myfaves thing unless you were already on that contract. i ended up not attempting to put the os on the phone and instead got the 8900 and yeah i agree i dont like the myfaves wheel.
thanks for the information
