Coverage/Signal?

Is anyone else experiencing problems with their coverage/signal today? Mine has been really wacky today. One second, I'll have absolutely no signal, then it'll bounce around EDGE, edge, GSM and no signal every second (no joke.. ). It practically drained my battery from 40% to 5% just looking for signal. When I did a battery pull, it started with 3G, then bounced around again between EDGE, edge, GSM and no signal.

Is it T-Mobile or is my phone? Any suggestions?

Edit: Forgot to add that I have a Bold 9700, running .586 software.

no you're not the only one. my signal has stayed on "edge" for the past two days. I've tried a battery pull and yet my signal remained on "edge". I can make phone calls and receive text messages but anything that's data related doesn't work. I think t-mobile has bad coverage honestly.

3G network upgrades can cause outages.

I've been having the same problem for the past 4 days! I'm only getting "edge" even after a battery pull. After calling tmobile customer service every single day I finally got an answer. The rep told me, after reading their "internal" data that there has been an outage on all non tmobile blackberries on the tmobile service. They opened a master ticket request to have their ITs work w/blackberry and RIM to find a solution and they are unsure when everything will be up and running again.

I have a verizon tour on the the tmobile network.
Does anyone else have a non tmobile bb and is having the same issue?

I just posted the same question. I've been having issues with yesterday with 3G coverage in South Florida. I switched over to EDGE and it has been fine.

I'm in Chicago and haven't had any issues with 3G what so ever.

With my tour I get only EDGE. Tmobile really dropped the ball this time, given Im not using their phono but I'm paying for their services.

Btw; congrats in the win w/the blackhawks. It was an awesome game last night.

I'm confused. Why did you get a tour if it doesn't work on tmobile? Tmobile doesn't share the same 3G frequencies as any others in the states... You will never get 3G to work on your tour with tmobile


But yeah, definitely a great year for them! Last night was insane! You know you had fun when you get the cops called on you

My verizon tour DID work until tmo had this outage. It was working for over a year then the data service went down. I never had problems with this phone before so they need to get with the program and find out what caused this outage.

Ok.. hold on a sec cowgirl... When you say your verizon tour DID work on tmobile are you saying it worked but with EDGE only or with 3G also?

Umm idk but what I do know is that it worked with EDGE, if there was 3G would it of said that on the phone? I don't know much about this stuff, I just know when theres something not working properly

Yes if you had 3G on the phone it would say that. And you would notice a somewhat faster speed through anything data related. So whats the problem here? You're only getting "edge" instead of "EDGE"?

You should really get a tmobile branded phone if you want it to work to its potential!

Yeah EDGE seemed to work just fine for me, I received this BB as a gift when I was already on the tmobile service. Yes, I'm only getting "edge" opposed to "EDGE" oh well. I guess my old tmobile curve will just have to do for now.
