Default Contract Coming to an End

Hello everyone, I'm new here.

Currently I have a Sidekick LX. This is my phone of choice since it easily has the best AOL-IM interface, and is always connected. My contract is up in December and I'm eligible for an upgrade.

I'm new to the BB scene so I have many questions. I am pretty excited about upgrading to a blackberry, there are some awesome apps (unlike the sidekicks). If I were to upgrade today, which blackberry would you recommend me getting? I'm all about instant messaging and such, and casual web surfing, so I'd need to be always connected via AIM. Would it be better if I wait till November when the BB 9700? comes out? The Storm 2 looks cool. I'm just so new to this I don't even know what the newer models are.

sorry if I rambled. I'll have more questions in a bit I'm sure.

If your contract is up in December I would suggest you wait until the 9700 comes out or wait a little while to see if the Storm 2 comes out; if you are interested in a touchscreen phone.

I would def wait for the 9700. Should be around in Nov/Dec of this year. Don't upgrade today, it'll be worth the wait.

I too came from a Sidekick. I love Blackberry. The forum here is very helpful in getting you set up and finding cool apps. Unlike Sidekick, there are tons of apps inlcuding free ones.
The keyboard will take some getting used to but you'll get the hand of it. I type faster on my BB than I ever could on my SK.

I'm coming from a Sidekick LX too and I'm definitely holding out for the 9700. I really think it'll be worth the wait.

If you stay with Tmo you have to get the 9700 or try and get an unlocked Storm 2 when they arrive.
