| | Compare please, TMO site is no help
I might be going with TMO from ATT due to business reasons and am looking at the current crop of devices available. Sad that there is nothing avail with 3g at this point!
Anyway, I go to the site and choose the Curve 8320, 8520, and 8900 to compare and with the specs given they are all the exact same phone other than size and bettery life. Of course, the obvious thing is that the 8520 has the touchpad.
What are the other major differences between these phones, since on the surface the "features" seem to be the same or very similar, it has to be whats "under the hood" that makes them different.
Thanks!

8320 and 8520 are the same animal......besides the trackpad although some will disagree....
From a business standpoint 8900 is your best bang for the buck ....best memory management....really just the bestt bb RIM offers in my opinion..
Tmo does have a 3G device the mytouch3G....but I dont reccomend it for business use...
oops I didnt see abover...there you go

Thanks! | I always thought that was ridiculous myself. Those things are worthless. If you really want to find out about a phone, do a google/Bing search using "blackberry 8900 review" or whatever phone you want. It will tell you soooo much more. As for these three, the 8900 is definitely the better phone and the 8520 is an upgrade to the 8320. Look over the reviews and then go play with them in person. Cost might also factor in here.

Thanks! | I was just doing this research of my own. I went with the 8900. From everything I've read it's one of BB's top of the line devices. Better screen resolution, more features, faster processor etc. I think the 8520 is an upgrade from the 8320 in terms of looks and the addition of the trackpad, but it's the entry level BB. The 8900 seems to be where it's at. 3g BB coming after the new year.

Spoke with our business rep yesterday and she said they are testing it out now. They have not come out with a 3G blackberry yet because they were having serious trouble with the 3G to EDGE hand off (so she says). I tend to believe this though due to the issues I have with the hand off on my ATT Bold. I am going to be joining T-Mob soon, have a 8900 to use, and then will get the 2yr contract price on the 9700 |

I upgraded frm a 8320 to a 8900 and its the best phone out there, i dont do touchscreens so thats out for the storm, the 8900 trackball is much better than the others as far as the 8300 series. this phone is a keeper regardless of what comes out next for tmo, also u can go to blackberry.com and compare devices.

The other obvious option is the 9000 Bold unlocked for TM.
If you go to the 9000 section of this forum, US users are about 50% TM and 50% ATT
While the 3G 2100 band for BB is something that TM may have available in a timely manner, there is no certainly that the 2100 will be usable for 3G on the current Bold. Further, the so called 3G Driftwood is no where in sight.
The TM EDGE for Bold works quite well if you are using the appworld applications since they take very little bandwidth. On the other hand, the BB Browser, which is iffy at best, sometimes slow...and is only a last resort. However, you still have an automatic WIFI switchover which is very fast.

Go for the 8900! I personally dont understand the point of the 8520...entry level or not is only $20 cheaper with contract...might as well just get the best BB available with that carrier
